Betrayed

It was a typical morning. I woke up and got ready for the prison, also known as: school. My mom was her typical bitchy self, she always yells at me for no apparent reason. I usually just sit there and ignore her, but for some reason today she was really getting on my nerves, more than usual. I grabbed my bag and books and walked out the door. As I made my way to the bus stop, I put my earbuds in and played some music, and saw a text from Jason asking if I wanted to hang out.

I replied back with "Sure." Jason is the richest, and most popular, kid in our school. He owns 3 houses! He's also pretty well known in the Youtube and Twitch community with about 61 million subscribers, and makes well over $32 million a year, and I'll admit I'm pretty jealous. I haven't even gotten myself a job yet and I'm in my junior year already, and he's only a freshman! I'm just happy to have him as a friend, I honestly couldn't care less about the money.

When the bus finally pulled up to the stop, I got on and took the front seat. Generally, everyone avoids the front seat because the bus driver is a bitch, but she is really sweet to me. She would probably kick anyone's ass if they tried to hurt me. As the bus was approaching Kristen's stop, I expected her to be standing outside as usual, but I couldn't see her. My phone buzzed with a text from her, which was strange. She doesn't usually text me in the morning unless she's going to be out sick. But, it turned out she was getting a ride from someone.

That's pretty strange, I thought. First my brother left early for school, and then Kristen wasn't taking the bus. I didn't really think anything of it though, because they didn't even really know each other. I closed her messages and checked to see if Jason responded. All he said was that he had something to ask me. I wasn't quite sure what that meant, I was a little worried but I just pushed it to the back of my thoughts. For the rest of the bus ride we texted back and forth, and we had an interesting conversation about me possibly modeling for his clothing brand. As the bus pulled up to the school I told him I'd text later.

I walked into the school and made my way to the lockers. But as walking, I spotted Kristen and my brother making out. I stormed over.

"Brandon! What the hell are you doing!?" I shouted.

"He started it!" Kristen exclaimed. I gave her a nasty look.

"I don't give a shit who started it." I glared at Brandon as he threw his hands up and backed away, then turned to Kristen.

"Well? What hell was that?" I asked her again. "Why were you kissing my brother?" She just looked down at the floor. "You told me you didn't even like him."

"Well, that might have changed at the party..." she mumbled.

"What party?" She looked at me with guilt.

"Jacob's party," she said.

"I can't believe you! I trusted you, why would you hurt me like that?"

"It shouldn't matter to you whether I like your brother or not. That doesn't affect our friendship." I looked at her with disbelief.

"Well, for your information, it really does matter to me. So you pick, me or Brandon," I said, tears threatening to spill.

"Don't do this, Nikki, don't make me choose between you. I care about both of you."

"I don't fucking care! It's either him or me!" I yelled.

"Fine, then I choose Brandon. I never liked you anyway, you're such an over-dramatic, selfish bitch! Why don't you do us all a favor and go fucking kill yourself. You think the world really revolves around you? Think again bitch. Just get the fuck away from me."
