From Beginning to End ~ Gajevy Fanfiction

「 Part 1 」

Sorry the first Part is so short! I didn't know how long I wanted each part to be so I'm going to freestyle my way through it. The next one is around 1000 more words than this one so don't worry! Also, thank you for checking this out! First Fanfic I've written, but not the first story!

~ Normal POV ~

It was just a normal day at the guild. Natsu, Lucy and happy where all sitting around a bench, arguing. Gray was standing by the bar, stripped naked, while Juvia, strangely but not unusually, admired him from a distance. Then there was Gajeel and Lily, standing by the job board, looking for a well paying job. Rent was driving them nuts, needing to do more jobs every day. But as usual, no luck was to be found on either of their searches. Everything was low paying or out of their skill reach. Gajeel was clearly getting pissed off as the dragon slayer laid down on the bench behind then, while Lily kept looking over the jobs again.

"Why even bother Lily, there's clearly nothing there. Everyone else got the good jobs." Gajeel complained as he closed his eyes. 

Not soon after he said that though, another mage was standing right next to the bench, coughing for Gajeel's attention. He heard the mage, opening up one eye to see who it was. Stood before him was Levy McGarden, the Solid Script mage of the guild. She was holding up a page with torn edges and messy writing. It was clearly a job request.

"Shrimp? What's this?" He asked, opening his other eye and focusing on the page in front of him. 

It was a very simple job request, but seemed to be paying a lot more than it should. All they had to do was go get groceries for some old man. Seems very simple, nothing bad sticking out in the request.

"Thought you might want to help me out. I know it's simple but I can't carry all the groceries by myself." Levy looked down, kinda embarrassed. She handed Gajeel the list to prove her point. It was a very long list, which made Gajeel understand that someone so small couldn't possibly carry all of this.

"I've already accepted the request. The client told he thought he was being hunted, that's why he sent a job in." She explained, smiling and putting the job request away again.

Gajeel just looked at the list again, then back to Levy. He obviously didn't want to have to do some lame delivery just to keep his rent, but it was all he had at the moment.

"Come on Gajeel, can you please help me?" Levy asked again in a desperate tone, one that nobody could refuse. The dragon slayer sighed, sitting up and getting Lily's attention.

"Fine, we need money so it'll have to do." Gajeel agreed to help her out, standing up now as he lead the way already. Lily started to follow him as Levy just stared at them for a couple seconds, happy that they agreed as she tried to run and catch up with the duo. 

Secretly, Gajeels reasons for agreeing to help her wasn't only his motivation. He knows very well that he really only wanted to help Levy. His rent didn't matter that much to him compared to the woman that he secretly loved. At this point, Gajeel could only hope for the same feelings, too much of a coward to find out.

And the three of them walked together, not a far trip, down to the market square to finish this job as soon as possible.
