Clive Baker was a standard 15-year old. He was always top of his class no matter where he went. But that was just the thing, he was always changing schools because his mom always made then move from one city to the next. He never understood why they moved so much. It wasn't even in an orderly fashion, it was all over the place. The only real friend he has is an online friend because he never stayed in one spot long enough to make any. His friend has a name that seemed from a fairytale; Carina Holiday.
Carina was a girl only one month older than Clive. She lives right out to the sea in California. Her family was super rich and lives in a huge beach house. You'd think that she would be sassy and snobby, but really she is friendly and like family.
Clive has known Carina since he tried an online school and they were partners for a project. But it turned out that Carina only took one online course and Clive never got in the same course with her again before he moved once more. He still messages her since he got her phone number right away before he moved.
One day, Clive heard that his mom had found their next location to move to; into Carina's own beach house.
It turned out that Clive's mom and Carina's father have been deciding this for a very long time now.
Katie Baker, Clive's mom, was now very fond of Mr. Holiday. Though she'd never be too close, knowing how he could be. She finally decided that Mr. Holiday's beach house was their final destination. Katie and Clive would be staying there from now on.
Clive excitedly messaged Carina about the news. He found out that Carina had know. From the very beginning and she was keeping it a surprise. He was first upset with her for keeping it a secret for so long. His anger didn't last long though because it was such great news.

The next morning, it was time for them to begin the move to their new home. It didn't take them long to get on their way because they only pack what's necessary.
Clive helped his mother find a course to drive then sat back and relaxed. Since their last home was in Oregon, it would only take about 8 hours to get there.

     They arrived by late afternoon.
Clive eagerly got out of the car and he saw Carina come out to greet them. He hugged her then stepped back to share a few quick words before setting to work unpacking.
Carina showed him to his room which was right next to hers.
"Thank you Carina, it's great to finally meet you in person, let alone live with you." Clive smiled warmly as he began to unpack his things.
Carina sat on the edge of his bed and watched him, "Of course. I helped convince my father to let you two live here, after all, we had these spare rooms. Anyway, I hear you're going to go to my school as well now. What classes are you taking?"
Clive glanced at her as he unpacked his clothes, "I graduated last year so whatever college courses your school has."
Carina stared at him in surprise, "You graduated at age 14?"
Clive shrugged, "Yup, I've always been ahead of the game. My mom says I have my father's smarts."
Carina nodded, "Where is your father?"
Clive hesitated then looked down, "I never met him."
Carina frowned, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."
Clive looked at her and smiled softly, "Its ok, I'm used to it." He paused then blinked and continued, "So what classes would I take?@
Carina thought for a moment, "Probably the advanced classes."
Clive nodded, "And what are those?"
Carina frowned, "Well, everyone always talks about them. Some people who come to the school only come for those classes. The kids are in the year book and everything, but I've never, ever seen any of them in the halls."
