Today was the day where my mother and I were going out shopping for new clothes, shoes and all other necessities for the new school year which seemingly ended up being my senior year in high school, and I have to say, High school went by lightning fast.
"Kota? You ready to go?," asked my mother from the neighboring room as I slid on a pair of darker brown combat boots which matched my maroon colored top that covered my butt, plaid scarf and beige leggings.
"Coming, mom," I reply the grabbing my phone and heading to the front door seeing her as bright as ever. As we go to walk out my nose is suddenly overcome by a strong smell of alcohol and the next thing I knew was my mother being pushed roughly to the ground.
"Dakota..!! Run!!," she orders me and I obey. I logically had no way to fight them at such a sudden moment. I didn't get a good look at their faces either so the only thing I could do was run.I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. As I ran I heard the firing of a gun, which caused my body to freeze up as tears streamed my down my cheeks knowing what has now happened..
I called the cops as soon as I got control of my body. They kept asking me questions when they arrived but all they were really going to be receiving were my heavy sobs.
It was over, my life was over.
My mother had died at the hands of cold-blooded killers.
Where was I supposed to go now?
