Iruma's face paled as she watched yet another one of her inventions fall onto the ground, piece by piece. She hadn't known how much this happened, she lost count at the fifth one. How long as it even been? She didn't know that either. She was doing something wrong, she was well aware of that, but she didn't know what exactly was wrong. She never bothered to check, never bothered to move away from her place unless she needed a tool or two. Iruma put important things aside like eating and going to the bathroom, even showering wasn't of her concern unless it really began to interfere with her work. She couldn't waste her time so carelessly.
What if she was close to getting [Name] back but she thought it would be nice to take a break? She could lose her place and not know what to do next. Having that made her feel despair.
Iruma was seeing things as well. The piano in her house would always be played by the pianist named Kaede Akamatsu, the one everyone had voted for. Iruma heard her annoying, yet encouraging, voice telling her to keep going and everything will turn out okay. She began to doubt it as time went by. Every time she saw her she wanted to throw up and cry, yet she kept all her emotions in. Breaking the invention with her tears would've driven her insane.
Iruma heard the detective at one point, asking her a question about a mystery he was solving. When Iruma didn't respond, he would ask another and another and another, his voice slowly fading. She had enjoyed his company in the past, now it just intimidated her. He didn't deserve to die, did he? He just wanted to get out with the pianist, their feelings for each other being painfully obvious. Everything about her friends dying pained her on the inside. Perhaps she should've brought their bodies as well, bringing back [Name] first before working on the others. Of course she didn't do that, cause her selfish ways acted before she could even think.
Iruma was brought back to reality as her finger was shocked, drawing back her hand quickly. "Fucking shit..." She muttered, massaging it.
Had she built another invention while she was thinking? This wouldn't have surprised her. Though building inventions went by quickly, the whole day went by slowly. It was as if God was trying to give her more time to spend more days with [Name].
Iruma glanced at the red button on the machine, her hand going towards it. She extended her index finger, about ready to touch it until a wave of hesitation hit her.
Was this really the right thing to do? The world was cruel. Not one day can go without a person killing their own kind, a person stealing stuff for themselves. It couldn't be peaceful for at least a minute. Did she really wanna bring her partner back to this place we call home?
She couldn't process her actions as she pressed the button, a weird sound responding.
She forgot to connect the invention to [Name]'s coffin.
"Shit!" She screamed out.
An explosion happened and Iruma flew back to the wall, colliding with it brutally. Purple smoke emitted into the air and it began to fill in the room. Her vision blurred and she was about ready to knock out, until she heard something fall onto the floor.
Iruma lifted her head up and saw a figure staggering forward. They didn't take a notice to her presence, so the inventor had to move and attempt to get up herself. That is, until it ran toward the genius inventor. She stared at the ground and cursed under her breath.
"A-Are you alright?!" They asked, Iruma feeling a hand on her arm.
"Doesn't fucking look like it now–" She gasped as she saw those [e/c] stare right back at her. Her emotions danced around in her head, she didn't know what to do, how to feel, how to move. Everything froze around her.
"Can you stand? I don't know what happened, but you seem to be in pain."
"No, no. I'm as fine as your body, pervert. You're thick as hell. What the fuck?" Iruma said those things to get a reaction out of her, but she was indeed telling the truth. She spotted the girl she fell in love with blush so suddenly, glancing away.
"Enough of that. If you could kindly tell me who you are, then I'll tell who I am."
Iruma stiffened. "Y-You don't know who I am?"
"I'm afraid not, my apologies."
Of course this wouldn't go smoothly.
[Name] didn't remember Iruma.
