C.J's POV:
Flashback
It all started when I was 7 from what I can remember, my mother left my father for a rich man and the woman my farther brought in was all but nice to me. Everyday I was her punching bag and ash tray and my father grew to be the same. I would sit in my room for days with no food or water in fear of seeing them. But one night a new family moved in to the house beside me with a girl who looked to be my age. Her hair was a light brown color an her eyes were very unusual they looked teal in a way. Her bedroom window was across from mine and she watched as I sat there crying slightly she opened her window and knocked on mine being it was in reach. I slowly got up trying not to make a sound as I did, I slowly opened the window and look intently at the girl in front of me. That's when she spoke "H-hey, are you okay?" She asked with worry dripping in her words. I only nod in response to which she replied "Are you sure, you have so many scars and bruises and you look like you need to eat. You're so skinny." My stomach growled at the mention of food. She looked at me worried an said "I'll be right back" within seconds she was back with bags of chips and candy and soda of all kinds she handed them to me and my eyes widened

That's how I met and became friends with Mara Luna she's a very popular girl at my school. She's great at everything she does she's captain of the softball team, top of the class with all A's and she even runs track. Then there's me, I'm antisocial, have sever anxiety and depression, wares dark clothes that are normally long sleeve to hide all my cuts burns and bruises, I would self harm but I get enough harm form my dad and step bitch.
