Eyeless Jack and other creepypasta characters are not mine

Y/N's POV

I adjusted my navy tie and smoothed out my white blouse as I jumped onto the bus and payed the fee.

"Mornin' Y/N." Mr. Duffy, the bus driver and strangely a good friend of mine, greeted me as I dropped the coins into the machine.

"Good morning, Sir." I smiled back and turned to sit in the front seat so we could talk. I found myself staring into nervous, blue eyes. I grabbed the bar above me as the bus roared back to life.

"Excuse me," I asked in the most polite voice I could.

"Y-yes, Miss. Y/N??" Who I could only assume was a freshman, stuttered at me in response. His fingers were fidgeting in his lap and his foot quietly tapped the bus floor. I chocked my head to the side slightly as he never broke eye contact even though they were filling with fear.

'Good, he knows who I am,' I thought smugly, 'that makes things easier.'

"Scoot your patoot, kid."
In under a few second the kid nodded and jumped from his seat, falling headfirst into a senior a row down as the bus turned.

"Watch it, kid!" The dude snapped and pushed the freshman out of the seat.

"Marcus, watch yourself!" I barked at the senior as I sat down. He grumbled back before turning towards the window. Marcus was one of the people who enjoyed picking fights with me. He's been picking them a lot less lately as, not to brag, he kept loosing. The blue eyed freshman gave me a half smile as he searched for ah empty seat amongst the sea of scowls. The freshman was adorable and I'm a little surprised I hadn't noticed him before. His hair is almost platinum blonde and his eyes are the bluest orbs I've ever seen.

"You sure keep the school in line, Y/N," Mr. Duffy chuckled, "Makes bringin' these guys to and from school a heck of a lot easier."  He smiled at me through the rear-view mirror and I grinned back.

"Just tell me if any punk causes you trouble. I'll take care of them."

"Don't be too hard on them."

I closed my mouth and nodded as stern eyes stared back at me from the mirror.
The bus slid to a stop and I watched as four kids boarded the bus. I recognized them as the Miller sophomores. I narrowed my eyes at the twin boys as they put six quarters each into the machine. They disliked me a lot because I enforced the rules. Their older sister and younger brother however both respected me and we got along just fine.
My (COLOUR) backpack sat at my side on the seat; silently signaling to the Millers to pass by my seat without even trying to sit down. I watched their eyes widen before dropping their gaze to the floor as the shuffled past.
My bandaged hand rested on top of my backpack so it wouldn't slide of the seat. When I was younger, I burned my hand helping my dad cook. He bandaged them up and doused them in some water that he added a drop of perfume to and said it was magic healing water. Even after the burns healed I wore the bandages proudly. I know its stupid but it just boosted my confidence. It still does help me get through rough patches but now I could hit something and hurt my hands less. Also, I think it makes me look tougher.

"Morning, Y/N!" A familiar prissy white girl voice ended the staring contest I had been having with the floor.

"Hey, Mia." I scooted over a bit and pulled my backpack closes to my thigh, offering her the seat I had denied many of my fellow students.

"What's new?" The stories that followed that simple question always intrigued me. Mia loved to go on and on about her social life and when I was the one who engaged the conversation, I didn't mind. She picked up on this and only bothers me if its deathly important. I've discovered what's seen as 'deathly important' is different for some people.

"Oh my gosh, girl you will not believe what Liam texted last night!" She rummaged in her bag for her rose gold iPhone which had a cute black cat charm hanging from it. I just smiled softly at her as she cursed to herself, digging deeper into the abyss that is her white and navy backpack.

"Found him!" Mia pulled out her phone and kissed the screen. Looking at her who'd think she was a spoiled rich kid but that's far from the truth. Her parents got divorced when she was four and she's had to work for all the fancy bling she owns. She has an expensive taste and not much money yet she always seems to get what she wants. She's been promoted many times and works at two part time jobs. Honestly I'm extremely proud of her.

"Tyler please don't hide from me again!" She jokingly shook her finger at her phone. Yeah, Mia's one of those people who names their electronics. When I tell her to go to therapy she thinks I'm joking and laughs.

"Anyways, girl, just read this! Actually I'll just read it to you so I don't have to interrupt you."

Mia's a quick learner to. I despise being interrupted.

"Kay so at, like, 2am this morning he sends me 'heyyy' with three 'y's and then after I respond back with the same thing but of course with a winky face because I mean, why wouldn't I? Then he asks if he can come over and I was just like omg but also wtf, y'know?!"

"He asked to come over... at 2am in the morning?" I chuckled and she nods with vigor; a serious look on her symmetrical face.

"That's a little... suspicious..."

"THATS WHAT THOUGHT!"

Mr. Duffy shot her a warning look through the rear-view mirror and her grinned a sheepish grin showing her perfect white teeth as she sunk down a little in her seat.

"... He didn't come over, right?"

"Course not! My mother would have killed me and him. If only I was at my Dad's! He would have been working late..." Her cheeks turned a shade of pink and she fidgeted with her fingers as she smiled at the floor.

"Mia! You shouldn't have him come over even if you were at your dad's." I scolded and she sighed before looking out the window across the ile. While lovesick Mia is adorable and a little dorky, She's also a pain. I know Mia's a smart girl but intelligence just isn't a thing when she's fawning over a boy.

"There's Acadia." I pointed out the window to the gated private school and eyed up the few kids already there in their school uniforms.

"Great!" She showed her pearly whites, "I'll get to see Liam!"

I rolled my eyes and adjusted my school uniform's skirt just as the bus screeched to a stop.
