Back to Present

Now I have been free from that hellhole for six months with no more daily beatings or people throwing rocks at me. Just wish I could find something to eat for I have barely seen animals in this part of the woods for a couple of days. I have no clue where I am.

After walking another couple of hours down this path, I started to smell the most wonderful smell of cooking meat. I started walking towards the smell and soon found myself in a little town. I walked around the town and didn’t see a soul and started to wonder if anyone actually inhabited the area or wether I was suffering from hallucination.

As I walked closer to the house where the smell of cooking meat was coming from, a large wolf jumped out from behind the door of the house and it startled me. I threw myself to the ground and started to cry out pleading for mercy.

‘’ Please do not kill me for I am just looking for something to eat and have not feasted in days.’’ I begged the wolf silently as growls emitted from the wolf.

‘’ Damn you Mike you scared the girl you big dummy.’’ I heard a voice soon say as I was still whimpering I looked up to see an elderly woman walk out of the house wearing a kitchen apron.

‘’ Hon do not worry about my big bad wolf husband his bark is worst then his bite.’’

‘’ Damn you woman do not give away my secrets!’’ yelled her husband shifting back to human form.

‘’ My dear you look like death please get up and come in and get washed up and something to eat by the way my name is Arizona and you met my husband Mike we are the alphas of the pack here. We might be small but we have the best fighters.’’ The woman said to me urging me to get up by helping me up without hesitation.

Upon entering their home I found it was larger on the inside than it looked from the outside.

’’ Well dear you might want to wash up there is a bathroom two doors down the hall on your left. I will take your dirty clothes and wash them for you and I might have something you can wear while waiting.’’

After entering the bathroom, I turned the shower on and stepped in a stated washing away the blood and dirt than had been solidified on my body for six months.

My blonde hair was clean and my skin was tanned from being exposed to the glare of the sun for so long but it was clean and most of my cuts had seemed to fade over time but one still remained. It was the one over my heart where my mother tried to cut my heart out right before I was kicked out of the pack.



*Flashback*



‘’ She has been punished long enough do not you think alpha for it has been six months since her sisters were abducted and still no word has reached our ears concerning their current conditions.’’ I was told by a pack member as I thought deeply.



‘’ My son has not given up hopes of finding his mate. Each day we go out and search for her and each day he comes back empty handed then takes his anger out on Crystal. Maybe I should have just let her go but everyone wanted someone to pay so I delivered Crystal into the hands of cruelty.’’



Just then I heard a blood-curdling scream coming from Crystal and ran toward the direction of the screaming immediately and there stood her mother slashing the skin on her chest screaming.



‘’ Why did they have to be taken and not you!’’ She screamed inflicting slash upon flash on Crystal as she screamed continuously.

I grabbed her mother and opened the stockade and everyone including my son was shocked.



’’ Why free the beast!’’ someone screamed in opposition to my actions and I bravely spoke back.



‘’ She might have failed her duty to protect her sisters but this punishment has gone on for too long.’’ with that I turned to Crystal and stated that Crystal Blain was no longer part of my pack and kicked her off my lands.



* Flashback Over*



After I finished my shower, I found that Arizona had left some stuff for me to wear. I got dressed and opened the door then started to walk out and walked square into a solid wall of skin. I tried not to look up and kept walking around this wall of skin but it just kept moving along with me and as hand came up to my chin. I froze and this hand lifted my face to meet the bluest eyes I had ever seen.



‘’ Oh dear you are finished with your shower come on for some food and I see you have met my son Jet please come join us to eat we have been waiting for you.’’ Came the voice of Arizona breaking us apart immediately.I moved away from this wall of skin named Jet and entered what resembled a dinning room and found three more people at the table. That was when Arizona started to talk once again.



’’ Well dear, these are all my children. You have met Jet and these are my twin boys Peter and Paul then lastly my only daughter Mary.



‘‘I am pleased to meet you all and would like to thank you for accepting me into your home when I needed shelter.’’ I said filled with gratefulness for their hospitality so far.



‘’ Well my dear do not worry about it. I saw how bad you looked and was obliged to help I really had not meant to scare you like I had.’’ stated Mike.



‘’ You scared her! How dare you scare my mate like that! How would you like if I scared your mate practically threatening her life!? Would you not attack me?!’’ Jet suddenly sprang up from his chair and bellowed at Mike who looked shocked to the core at his behaviour.



Mate? I must have heard wrong, for I am worthless and do not have a mate as my parents had told me a while ago. They said that they had talked to the fates in order to make sure I never got a mate.
