"As happy as I am that you moved back, you need to get out of the house."
"And go where? Also, I am doing very important things, like still searching for a job," I say knowing full well, that my job hunt isn't going well, at all.
There was a growing silence as my mom was thinking of something, "You still need to get out of the house. I'm going to Holly's house right now. She has a daughter, I think 2 or 3, years younger than you," I turn to her closing my laptop.
"Who the hell is Holly?" I say getting up to stretch.
"My boss and one of my dearest friends. Are you going or not? If you are, get changed," she says staring me down.
"Got nothing better to do," I turn to my closet to pick out some nicer (not really) clothes.
"Good," she says while walking away. "hurry up, though."

My mom pulls up to the gates to a ginormous house--mansion, I should say. While I was in the trance, put upon me due to the size of this dwelling.
"You say, she's your boss, yet she owns this palace?" I ask all while looking out the window still marveling at the building.
"Well, her husband is Arthur Gwin," she casually name drops. A smirk forms on her face, as my jaw drops and eyes go wide.
"You mean the man who develops the world's most advanced telescopes for commercial use!" The car stops on side of a truck that seems to be unloading flower arrangements, "you should have told me, I would have happily tagged along sooner." I say undoing my seatbelt and getting out of the car.
"Listen to your words. This is why I didn't tell you."
We started walking up the stairs to the entrance of the house. Out the door comes a woman in formal, yet kinda casual clothes.
"Louise! Good to see you," the woman envelopes my mom into a tight hug, "this must be Elliot."
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Gwin," I great giving off a sincere smile and hold out my hand to shake, which she accepts. It was weird to see such a difference between Mrs. Gwin and my mother. My mom was never tall, but she certainly wasn't too short and in this case plump, but standing next to the tall and slim woman she also appeared a little on the heavier side. It was a striking contrast.
"Wonderful to finally meet you. I hear you just moved back home,"
"Yep, although it wasn't exactly planned," I say scratching the nape of my neck.
"That's all right. Everyone needs a break from their studies once in a while," I hold back my confused face, instead keeping the now, less than sincere smile, "let's go inside and talk a little more."
We start toward the entrance of the palace when I decide to walk next to my mom, "You told her!?" I whisper, audible enough for only my mom to hear.
"Of course, wouldn't you tell your best friend everything going on in your life," she responds nonchalantly. We enter the residence and I would be in another trance if it weren't for the current events that took place.
"I understand that, but this isn't going on in your life," I say now in a darkened mood.
She turns to me with a serious expression, "that's where you're wrong. You're still my child and anything that concerns you concerns me." she states matter-of-factly. She turns back her smile returning as she talks with Mrs. Gwin. We travel some way through the house, until we settle into, what I think is, the living room. We sit on opposing couches, Mrs. Gwin and my mother on one side and myself on the other.
