**FUTURE**

I remember the silence for that split second, you could hear a pin drop. My heart began to beat at a rapid pace and my eyes were stinging. A tear rolled down my cheek, landing at my lips. This could not be possible. My mother could not be gone.

The monitor screeched and my younger sister screamed. She rushed towards her, kissed her face and sobbed. My mothers face was soaked with tears and sweat from the recent events.

The doctors gave the look, the usual "I'm sorry for your loss" type of look. I couldn't deal with it.

My chest tightened and my breathing became heavy, I felt lightheaded and my face was numb. I got pins and needles and heard a high pitched screech in my ear. Was this a panic attack? It couldn't be. I didn't think it could even happen because you know..

It was all a blur, when I finally came back to reality I was on a hospital bed with a nurse ready to give me water. She looked at me with a sympathetic smile and it made me feel a little calmer. My breathing calmed and so did my heart rate.

"Ms.Collins, are you okay?" She smiled.
"Yes, sorry, I don't know what happened"I pulled my hair behind my ears.
"Is it possible that I can talk to you about your mother, or is it too much right now?" She asked.
"Go ahead"
"Well, it looks like she had a brain haemorrhage, we can look into it more in the autopsy, is there anybody you need to contact abroad, anything you need us to do?" She explained placing a hand on my arm.
"No, I'll be able to do it myself, thanks anyway" I replied.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm Alessia, Alessia Collins, I'm 22 years old and this is my story. When I was 17 My dad passed, he had cancer, it started as something small, something they expected they could fix, but it then spread and he became so ill. Watching him be so sick, really changed me. My life completely turned around and I was like a different person.
I got heavily intoxicated almost every weekend, don't ask how I got the drink. I smoked cigarettes and I was an overall mess. I got in trouble with the police more than once and my mother was put through so much stress.
One night, I was stumbling across my area, drunk and alone when I saw a guy, almost the same age as me.
He talked to me but I didn't remember what he said, the next morning I woke up in a house, unable to breathe. Along came the guy.
"I'm Damon, Damon Salvatore" He held an arm out but I quickly moved away.
I analysed my body and there was blood everywhere, my neck was throbbing. I raised my hand to my neck where I felt blood all over.
"W-What did you do?" I snapped, trying to move even more but my head was too sore.
"Wellllll let's just say you are now as a human more stronger than ever before" he smirked and walked towards a table, the table had many different types of alcohol upon it. Damon went for the bourbon.
"What do you mean, and why is my head so sore?" I winced in pain.
"You are now let's say, dead but still alive, your senses are heightened and that's probably why your head is hurting" He poured the Bourbon into a glass laying it on the table.
"Wait what? Dead but alive? Like a vampire?" I asked, cringing at even the word.
"Exactly, oh look at you catching on!" He smirked again, walked over to a radio and switched it on.
"Dance with me" He held his hand gesturing me to grab it, he then with the other hand, handed me some drink.
"No, ew" I pushed his hand away.
"Why is everything hurting me, vampires aren't actually real are they?" I asked.
"Yes, yes they are, you aren't exactly a vampire yet, your transitioning, all you have to do now is drink someone's blood and then pow your a vampire" He danced to the music, his bourbon spilling everywhere.
"Drink someone's blood? I have to kill someone!" I snapped.
"No no no, you could be boring and drink it from a blood bag, which my brother Stefan keeps in the basement but that's not fun you know" He continued to talk.
"If you don't you die" He laughed.
"Get me the bag, NOW" I screamed at him.
About 5 minutes later he returned back to the room with at least 10 bags of blood. I drank them, and I enjoyed it weirdly enough. After I finished I felt amazing, until my teeth felt a huge burst of pain.
"Oh my god what's going on" I yelped.
"Your fangs, they're coming through" Damon placed his hand on my cheek.
I ran to the mirror and my eyes were horrifyingly dark and had vein like features under them. My teeth looked scary, the blood still remained on it and they were bigger than usual, but not much bigger.
I was now a vampire, a real living vampire.
