Alex was a young man, at the age of eighteen, who had been living with his mother and father his whole life. His life was good. His family lived in a decent house, had enough money to live and have what they needed.
As a child he was given everything he wanted, but he had to earn it first. This had turned him into the rational, responsible and disciplined young man he was now. He was a handsome boy, though he looked nothing like his parents. He was tall-built, had ice-blue eyes, and wavy white hair. The only thing he had in common with his father, was that they both were tall. And from his mother, by the looks of it, Alex had taken her wavy hair, though not the colour. Both his parents were black-haired with brown eyes, so dark that they seemed black. But he never wondered why it was this way.
Alex was a boy who cared for his appearance. He would always wear nice clothes, some of which he had made himself. He enjoyed creating something beautiful. The thing he loved most, after his mother and father, was his horse. A strong snow-white stallion named Rocinante. Whenever he felt lonely, or that there was no one to talk to, he would jump on Rocinante's back, ride far away from home, and tell the animal all his worries. That was Alex's way. And as the years passed he felt misunderstood and lonely more and more. He knew why, but he was afraid to tell the world. He thought that he wasn't destined for something big.
He imagined his life as a sewer. Doing what he was good at, and make a living out of it. But little did he know, he was wrong.
