These indicate location in different ways. In Varië, time is treated like physical locations.

Sou - Location of the sentence's occurrence, or time of the sentence's occurrence.
Hi - To (as in directly to, marks destination)
Rou - Towards (in the direction of, but not necessarily the destination)
Nae - Away
Example sentences:
Ui aega sou {{flower}} evacon.
(I garden at flower see)
"In the garden I see a flower."
Ui aega hi ilon.
(I garden to go)
"I go to the garden."
Ui aega rou ilon.
(I garden towards go)
"I go towards the garden."
Ui aega nae ilon.
(I garden away go)
"I go away from the garden."
Ui 4:00 sou {{flower}} evacem.
(I 4:00 at flower futureSee)
"At 4:00 I will see a flower."

Esou aega ase amaë.
(from garden to house)
