"This is crazy Wednesday! You are going to plot your own death!
Tell me you're not serious." Merida said in an exaggerated tone of voice,
I could tell that she's half annoyed half frustrated.
"I am not going to plot my death Mer, it's somebody else's, it's my new character..
I just named her after me."
If only I knew that all of these will happen I should've listened to Merida, my best friend and secretary. She told me how insane my idea was when I told her that my next book's protagonist would be a girl named after me. She disagreed, she even protested, she was against my idea for the first time ever. Why? Because all the novels I wrote were tragedies, my main characters always end up dead. Merida didn't want me to think of a way to kill a character that has the same name as me, but I didn't listen, I thought she was just overreacting so I didn't listen. My mind was already made up by the time I told her my plans; that my next book will be about a girl named Wednesday Lohan, and she's going to be dead, she has to be.
"Best author of the year, best author for non-fiction novels, best novel of the year,
and a plaque for selling 10,000 copies on the launch of her newest book
'Ceasar Fell in Love with the Moon', ladies and gentlemen, four awards in one night,
best-selling author of tragedy novels, Ms. Wednesday Lohan!"
My memories of that night is still as clear as a crystal, how the host introduced me, how the audience clapped and cheered for me, how some of the best authors and literary professors wanted to shake my hand and congratulate me, and how I needed someone to help me carry my awards as I went down the stage. That was probably the best day of my life. That was probably the last best day of my life, because the next time I would be winning awards, it would be Merida receiving the plaques for me and the people would want to shake her hand and tell her their condolences. Because the next time I would be winning an award for a story I have written, I am probably dead.
The day all my troubles began was also the day I got a chance at happiness, I never fell in love before, I never even thought of it. I have no family, my brother and my parents died on a car accident when I was nineteen, but I have friends, I have Merida, but most of the time it's Peaches, my poodle, and writing of course, that pulls me out of my thoughts every time I think my life is miserable. But that day changed everything. It was like happiness was offered to me and all I have to do is swallow it, my fate was put into my own hands. That day I badly wanted to escape my life and free myself from the hatred I feel towards the world, so I decided to go to Serendipity, my favourite coffee shop, a place where I somehow find peace. That's where I bumped into a man. I never knew he exists, I thought he lives only in my imagination.
"I'm really sorry, my fault. I'm not looking, here let me help you." Said the man who
I bumped into in front of my favourite coffee shop.
"No it's my fault, I'm not looking, I'm reading my manu.." I wasn't even able to
finish my sentence because when I looked at him he was so familiar that it made me feel
like I already knew everything about him.
"A manuscript? Of course, everybody's talking about the masterpiece you are
currently working on. I'm Conrad Park by the way, literature professor at the University
of Madeline East. I'm a big fan of yours, Ms. Lohan." He shook my frozen hand
