Movie Night

Connor McKinley almost never slept, and when he did it was only at three to five hour intervals at a time. Sometimes he was too scared to sleep, but others he couldn't help to sleep but woke up almost screaming. He hated sleeping, which was understandable seeing as he hadn't had a good night sleep sense he was in third grade. He had Hell Dreams ever sense he had is first crush on a boy, and he tried everything to stop them. In his life he's tried to date girls before, but that never ended up that well. No one in Uganda knew about those dreams, other than his companion, who almost knew everything about him. He was determined to keep it that way. That is until Kevin Price decided  to set up a sleepover with Connor to better know him. Price was upset that he was only close to his partner, and was trying to get closer to everyone else in his camp. Connor was terrified about him sleeping near Kevin, he knew he couldn't tell him about the dreams but he also knew he couldn't not tell him about the dreams. He was so confused on to what to do, until Kevin showed up with a small battery powered DVD player and a stack of Disney movies. They sat down in front of Connor's cot with the DVD player on the dirt floor, and sat down on the blanket Connor always kept on the floor. Connor had managed to steal a couple of Poptart's Poptarts, and they ate them as they binged watched the movies. Turns out that both Kevin and Connor were huge Disney nerds and knew every song in every movie. As they watched the movies together, they sang the songs together. During all of the cutesy romance parts of each movie, Connor would glance over at Kevin, wishing he could actually be with him. Wishing that he could tell him how he felt. He was looking at Kevin the entire time that So This Is Love from Cinderella was playing, and sang along. Kevin didn't notice, which is good because Connor would've died if he did. This was the first time in his life that he had ever felt romantic emotions towards a boy without feeling any guilt, any remorse. He was truly happy, truly himself. Connor's favorite Disney movie, The Princess And The Frog, came on and couldn't help but to act out almost every part of the movie. Every time he did, Kevin would laugh so hard, and Connor would feel so happy. A couple of hours later, they were in the middle of The Little Mermaid, Kevin fell asleep. He fell over right next to Connor's lap, and he couldn't help but just look at him. He knew then that he couldn't sleep that night, he didn't want to take the change of waking up Kevin from his slumber. He started stroking and playing with Kevin's hair, as he watched and re-watched ever Disney movie in that stack. He sang every love song, out loud, to Kevin, something he thought never never could do. Here he was, having the best night of his life, just looking at Kevin. He never thought he could be this happy, he never thought God would let him. But, in this moment, God didn't even cross his mind. He just sat, and sang, and smiled
