The Beginning

Vanessa's P.O.V.

9pm Move In Day- My parents are finally gone and all my stuff is unpacked now I can its just me and my best friend Haley in the room. I jumped on my bed and stared at the celling thinking, Wow Im finally in college! I never thought I would make it but here I am. Its perfect Im far enough away from home so my parents cant check up on me, my roommate is my best friend and I get to play soccer while in college. I can finally figure out who I am and have fun!

Nessy, Nessy, Nessy! My roommate shouted trying to get me out of my day dream.

"Dude we need to get some sleep we have a captain lead run tomorrow remember

Oh, yeah sorry ill turn off my lights

I shut off the lights and curled in bed fantasying about all the new friends and adventures I will have at college until I drifted to sleep

McKenzie's P.O.V.

I lay in bed after a long, emotional day going back to school. I lay my phone next to me in hopes my girlfriend, Penelope, would call me. We had some struggles last year, but I was hopping that this year would be better. I just lay and look at my messy room and think I should get up and finish unpacking. I get up and finish putting up all my clothes and look around at all the things that remind me of home. I already miss my parents. They just left me, but I wish they could have stayed longer. I go to my newly made bed and pick up my phone. I dial my moms phone number to be greeted with the sound of her voice.

Hey sweetie, how's it going? She asked.

Eh, still a lot to unpack. I miss you guys, I replied.

We miss you too sweetheart. Remember everything is going to be okay, we will be back soon!

I know, I know. I love you momma.

We love you too sweetheart, go finish unpacking and get some rest. We are proud of you. She said then hung up the phone. I change into pajamas and climb into bed and let my thoughts help me fall soundly asleep.

Vanessa's P.O.V.

Even though I was only a freshman I already knew people who go here like one of my only high school and club teammate, Maddie. Maddie had already wanted to set me up with some soccer guys since me and my ex-boyfriend Carlos had broken up since I left home. Before we meet the guys she had asked Haley and I to go hangout at her place. Walking over there I was excited since we would also meet her roommates who will also be my new teammates. As we walk in the dorm I observed the small apartment looking dorm trying to see if anyone was there.

Hey Nessy, Haley, like our place? Maddie asked

Yeah its cool and bigger than our place. I replied

Camila isn't here right now but my other roommate is here, her name is McKenzie.

McKenzie she called.

As she walked to greet us with a friendly hi I observed her. She was wearing a tank top and had a tattoo on her shoulder. She was very pretty. I wondered if she was nice, I remembered the last time I met her I was scared even though she was nice to me on my college visit. I knew she was dating a friend of mine and I thought I should keep my distance. I know myself to well and even though I just thinks she's pretty I know it can be nothing more than possibly a friendship. I didn't want my little crush to end up revealing my past so I hoped that the feelings would go away with time.

McKenzie's P.O.V.

Everything seemed to be put into place. Clothes hung, bed made, and decorations perfectly placed and hung. I lay back down on my bed and pull out my laptop to watch Netflix. I hear the door to our apartment open and I wonder who is out there. I hear voices. I hear my roommate, Taylor, talking to whoever is out there. McKenzie!, she called out to me. I put my things down and walk out to the living room to see two short Hispanic girls standing in my living room with Maddie.

Hi! I say with a smile towards both of them. They both stood there quietly.

This is Haley, and Nessy, Maddie said as she pointed to each of them. Haley smiled and waved and Nessy just smiled softly as she looked back down at her feet. She stayed quiet the whole time the rest of us carried on a conversation. Id met her before when she came on her visit last year and stayed with Lisa. She was quiet then too, I guess thats just how she is. Lisa told me she was loud and out going, but I guess she was nervous or something. I figured both of them would be over a lot since they were friends with Maddie.

Vanessas P.O.V.

After hanging out and talking at Maddies place we left across the street so she can introduce me to some of her guy friends who all happened to be on the guys soccer team here. When I walked in I was introduced two the three guys and one girl. First was Rick, who was a tall Mexican guy who was thin but in shape. Then was Luke who was also Mexican but was a lot shorted bigger than Rick but still in shape looking. Lastly was CJ a white kinda nerdy looking guy who was really nice and greeted me and even introduced me to his girlfriend around his arm, Camila, who also was my teammate. We joked around for awhile and as it got later Haley decided to leave since her boyfriend was waiting for her downstairs to go to his room to sleep. I said goodbye to her and decided to stay a little longer. Rick and Luke were the main ones talking to me or the rest of the night. I could feel myself getting tired so I decided to ask Maddie if she could take me back to my dorm since it was 1 in the morning. She gladly said yes and once we got in the car she started asking me questions of what I think about everyone. I told her with perfect timing I had reached my dorm.

Vanessa?

Yes Maddie. I answered.

The guys really liked you, if you had to pick one to date out of Rick and Luke who would you pick? she asked
