Assistant Coach (Taylor Caniff Fanfic)

Chapter 3

Kelsey's POV

We stand around for a while longer for one more plane to come in. The last few people arrive then the chauffeur leads us outside to the car.

A huge SUV limo is parked out front. One person is standing outside holding the door open for us. We set our bags down next to him then pile in.

I sit next to a girl I haven't met yet and Anna.

"Hi I'm Kelsey." I introduce to the girl next to me

"Bailey." She says looking disinterested.

I'm stuck between miss perky pants and miss I could care less. Perky pants it is.

"So how long have you been playing field hockey?" I ask Anna

"For as long as I can remember. How about you?" She asks

"A few years. I started on my school team. I've been in love since." I sat with a proud smile

"What's your favorite color?" She randomly asks

"Purple or green. Why?" I ask weirded out

"I don't know. I like to find out stuff about people." She says

"Oh."

"I've lived in a foster home all alone for my entire life. It's just how I am sorry." She confessed

I feel bad now "It's okay. Let's focus on how awesome this limo is."

I stare up at the ceiling admiring the rainbow stars.

"I've never been in a limo before." She says looking at the stars

"Neither have I."

"It's really cool."

"Tell me about it."

We stare at the ceiling for the remainder of the ride which is only a few minutes.

"Eek we're here!" Anna shrieks when we stop.

The chauffeur opens the door and we all pile out. We stand in front of a huge cabin like building. Behind it is smaller cabins and a dirt road. At the end of the road are several fields. Next to them is a tennis court, pool, and rock climbing wall. ( I kinda pictured it like the camp in Parent Trap if you ever saw that movie with Lindsay Lohan)

This place is amazing.

"Welcome girls! My name is Coach Caniff. If you follow me into the cabin you will get your room assignments. 15 minutes after we all settle in we will meet at the camp fire area and I will talk about the camp! Come in." She says. She seems really nice.

"I never asked, how old are you?" I ask Anna

"16." She replies

"17." I say and we walk into the cabin.

It doesn't look like a cabin at all on the inside. It had a woodsy feel but it's very nicely decorated.

We get our room and our bags are already on our beds.

"I can't believe that I'm here!" I say jumping on the very comfortable bed

"I know! This place is better than my bedroom." Anna jokes and we both laugh

We start to unpack. We even have our own bathroom!

An announcement calls everyone to the camp fire are.

"I'm so excited." Anna exclaims as we walk out of the cabin

We walk down the dirt pathway. A few girls are already sitting down on the logs

Anna and I sit on a two person log. The rest of the girls sit down and the coach stands up.

"So girls welcome to Camp Hokens! As you can see we won't be all field hockey. Field hockey during the week and fun and games on the weekends. Is that fine by you?" She starts

"Yes!" We all shout in unison

"Good. We will start tomorrow with field hockey." She theme explains what time the meals are and when we practice and all the rules and stuff.

"Now I will be assisted by my son Taylor. I don't know where he is. Always late." She says looking around

"I thought Taylor was a girl." I whisper to Anna and she giggles

"Me too." She says

The coach seems pretty cool.

"Sorry I'm late." What I'm assuming to be Taylor says running to Coach Caniffs side.

He is really cute. He is wearing a red bandana around his head and a muscle tank. He is hot.

"This is Taylor. He will be assisting me." Coach Caniff explains

"Just with the fun stuff. I don't know anything a this field hockey." He says in the most adorable accent

A few girls giggle in a flirty way at him.

"I also am not looking for a relationship with all y'all females sittin round this fire." He scolds but is playful at the same time

He is really funny. I love how he makes everything he says funny. I keep my feelings to myself.

All these girls are much prettier than I am though. there goes my luck.

Them he looks at me. We have the inseparable gaze.

"I guess that is all for today. You guys can do whatever you like. Swim, play tennis, basketball, whatever. I'm looking forward to spending the summer with you all." The coach says

Taylor and I haven't looked away. His mouth is slightly open.

"Let's go play basketball." Anna nudges me.

I break the gaze " oh sure."

We head to our cabin to change. I turn back to look at him. He is staring at me.
