Raine's POV

"Come on, Raine. You'll love it there!-"

Harley was in the middle of explaining to me as to why I should go to Warped Tour with her this year. I stood in the kitchen making me a smoothie with my back turned to her as she sat on the stool chair at the kitchen island. Disappointment shown in her voice as she rambled on for now 10 minutes as to why I should go.

"Please, Raine. You won't be disappointed once you get there. There's people, bands, band members, CUTE band members, music... Did I mention CUTE BAND MEMBERS."?

I let out a little giggle as I poured the mixed berry smoothie into a glass, handing Harley a glass as well. "You know I don't do well around other people I don't know." She looked at me dumbfounded.

"Then how do you expect to get married?"

"I will become a Nun. It's a lifelong dream of mine you know." Harley nearly choked on the smoothie as she took a sip.

"Raine." She pauses, making sure I was making eye contact with her. "Please just go. If you don't like it, then I will never ask you to come with me ever again. I've been going since I was 14, and what better way to spend my best friend's birthday than to have her tag along with me?"

"If I say yes, will you stop." She nodded in excitement, jumping from the seat to give me a tight hug.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She kissed me on the cheek and went back to her drink. I rubbed the mixed fruit mark off my cheek in disgust, and walked to the living room turning on the weather channel. "Not this again." Harley groaned as she joined me.

"What?"

"The Weather Channel, really?"

"It's not that bad if you just sit here and watch it." I smirked as Jim Cantore popped up on the screen, rambling about today's weather.

"I know you've always wanted to be a Meteorologist, but is this necessary?"

"You're making me go that to stupid concert with you, so I'm making you watch the Weather Channel. Hush." I retorted back as she sunk down in the couch cushion, finishing the drink.

Hours had passed and I have yet to move off the couch. Harley lied in the fetal position on the other side of the couch, snoring softly out of boredom. My stomach growled in hunger.

"Harls." I kicked her slightly, enough to startle her.

"Wha-what time is it?" She yawned, rubbing the tiredness from her eyes.

"5:50 in the afternoon." I motioned towards the clock. "Want to grab a bite to eat before you have to go home?" She nodded, sitting herself up as she ran her fingers through her hair as a brush. Even though we're best friends, we don't live together. After graduating high school, we both moved into the apartment I live in now, but soon after, her mother got into bad shape with her health, so Harley moved back home. It's been difficult keeping up with bills by myself, but Harls helps me when she can between her house bills and medical bills for her mother.

"There's a burger shop on the way to your place if you want to swing by there. I heard it's really good." The word burger lit up her face with excitement. She loves her burgers.

Maxx's POV

"Maxx, you have to find someone soon." The boys bombarded me with questions as to why I have yet to find a girlfriend.

"Zach isn't dating anyone either, so why are you all harassing me about this?" Everyone kept quiet as we all stared at Zach, who looked completely innocent at the time and shrugged.

"Because you've been single longer than any of us here." Cody's voice cracked, as Sydney and Shay stood behind their boyfriends, laughing.

"I just... haven't found the right girl for me yet, okay? Love takes time. You all should know." Cody and Dan looked at their girlfriends in a way couples look at each other in movies. Cody and Shay shared a quick peck on the lips as Dan and Sydney squeezed each other in a side hug.

"Can we just go eat now?" Shay groaned as the group, as if in sync, all stood up. Everyone gathered their belongings and headed out the door. As the couples walked together, Zach and I stood toward the back of the squad, chatting about non-sense.

"BURGERS!" Zach exclaimed as a burger sign lit up around the corner, and he started running towards the entrance. Cody, Dan, and the girls laughed. I just stood there, too deep in thought to even care.

Why am I single?

We walked into the entrance of the restaurant, not a lot of people were in here. Must be a new place. From the corner of my eye, I noticed two girls sitting in a booth, chatting. One of the girls caught my eye. Her long. obviously unnatural red hair vibrant against the lights reflection. A little spark of reflection shined against the light as well, notifying she had a nose ring. Just like me. It was edging towards the beginning of summer, yet she wore a black long sleeved shirt. Wouldn't she be hot in that? She matched the outfit with blue jean shorts and a pair of leggings underneath. I must say, she was cute.

I followed the boys to the opposite side of the cafe, sitting in a booth with Zach. I made sure to get the side where I can look at the mysterious girl, from a distance. No, I'm not stalking. Just observing.

Her friend had some good qualities as well. Long, brown, curly hair with a warm tan upon her skin. They seemed to be having a good time. The friend looked at her phone, and her face turned pale as if in shock, before running out the door. The red headed girl followed in worry, but searched her items for money to pay for the food they had gotten. I quickly ran over, noticing the tears forming in her dark green eyes.

"I-I can't find my wallet." She choked through the tears. I wiped the tears from her eyes, holding her face to look at me.

"Just go. I got this." I shook my head as if to comfort her. She placed her hands on mine, shaking her head back before mouthing a 'thank you' as she ran back outside. I watched the mysterious girl away, before placing $40 on the table they ate at. The waitress came by, looking at me in shock, as I obviously paid more than what they owed. "Keep the change, ma'am."

I walked away with my hands in my pockets. Everyone in the cafe now looking at me and the scene that just happened. I sighed, knowing I'll never see that girl again.
