"Our Dance"

My eyes are awed

with these bright lights, dazzling gowns

twirling in this one room filled with music.

People dancing with every beat,

happy and full of blast.

I caught a glimpse of you,

like magnet and steel.

You came close

My heart pounds.

Is it real?

Are you really coming for me?

You vow in front of me

and ask for a dance.

I instantly take your hand

and say yes

this is a wish I ever wanted.

We dance in the night

below the chandelier.

I gaze upon your eyes,

shining and colorful,

a kaleidoscope in the void.

I just want to freeze the time

and capture this moment—

this moment when I'm

holding you close

For your hand fits in mine.

An intimate moment

I never want to prison in my memory.

I hold on tight.

Afraid that one move,

you'll fade, vanish, and leave.

Afraid for the song to finally come to an end.

I want to hold still.

I dread for that time

when I'll finally have to let go.

I lean to your heart.

Your suit is warm against my cheeks.

Your smell lingers in my nose.

Then, I close my eyes.

The time I flutter my eyes

to look at you once more,

here I am.

Back in the same spot in reality.

Realizing, I never really had you...
