"Nick! You need to finish your homework AT HOME!" Alyssa yelled across the table. Her brows were furrowed as she waved her hands around in frustration. She angrily watched her friend rush the math homework he should have done last night. She sighed and took her place at the lunch table. Nicholas had hardly looked up at her as she said this. This had become a daily feud between them, which they had become accustomed to. Alyssa then began to wave frantically to get her friend's attention.

"Olivia! Oliiiiiviaaaaa! Over here!" Alyssa called out. Olivia's eyes finally landed on her best friend, and she made her way over to Alyssa. Matthew and Jared were tagging along, not far behind. Nicholas rolled his eyes. His headache had been pounding ever since he first go to school, and Olivia's inability to find the table after they have been sitting in the same spot ever since the beginning of the year was more aggravating than usual. The increasing volume of chatter in the cafeteria did not help his situation. His focus seemed to be escaping him, and the more he tried to work the more the little miners in his head pounded. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed in frustration.

"Hey, Alyssa! Hi, Nick! How are you guys doin'?" Olivia said with a smile. She looked over to see Alyssa obsessing over her tangled mess of a hairdo. Olivia's hands quickly moved to her friend's unkempt nest. Alyssa sighed in relief as Olivia gently untangled the knots that she had failed to free that morning. After freeing the golden locks of their own trap, Olivia braided Alyssa's hair and completed it with her own hair tie. A smile grew from ear to ear as she marveled over her excellent work. "All done, Alyssa!" Olivia announced.

"Thank you so much, Olivia! I don't know what I'd do without you, " Alyssa exclaimed. She pulled her friend into a warm embrace and grinned. She then pulled back and ran a hand over the intricate design her hair had been woven into. How does she do that? She's amazing! Alyssa thought to herself. Olivia never ceased to amaze with her miracle working hands. She always had a magical way of taming Alyssa's crazed hair. Alyssa took a moment to admire Olivia's brown and shiny locks that seemed to never fall out of place. Alyssa looked over to notice Nicholas was looking quite pale, and it was taking him longer than usual to work through his math worksheet. "Do you want some help, Nick?" Alyssa asked.

"Yes, thank you" Nick replied with a sigh of relief. He was running on only three hours sleep since he had waited until the last minute to work on his project. So, Nicholas had to stay up late last night to finish it. After passing the worksheet and pencil to Alyssa, he rested his head on the table. Within a few moments, Nicholas was whisked off into the land of dreams, and he wished never to return to the reality of this stress-ridden school. His classmate's snickers were far, far away. But sadly his sweet slumber was interrupted by a loud boom from the cafeteria line. Nick sprung up in his seat immediately, having been disturbed from his peaceful slumber. He discovered that his dreams were disturbed by a boy who had just dropped a lunch tray.

Nick grunted in frustration. His headache seemed too painful to allow him to sleep now. He reached into his bag and pulled out his strawberry flavored pop tarts. He began to chew silently as Matthew began discussing ideas to help fundraise for the school dance. The school dance always raised money children with cancer and last year they only raised a measly 500 dollars. Matthew was the leader for the dance committee this year, so he really wanted to help out. An idea occurred to him as he munched on his pop tart.

"Matthew! I have an idea! What if we sold Pop tarts? Who doesn't like those?" Nicholas asked with a smug expression on his face. It was foolproof. Buy some pop tarts, sell them for like a dollar for a pack of two pop tarts, and BAHM. Instant cash for the big dance. Pop tarts have all kinds of flavors, and they're packed with sugar! Who doesn't wanna hop on a sugar high? And, since schools are all "healthy" now you could sell the unfrosted ones if it came down to it. Jared chuckled and shook his head in reply.
