This book was automatically one of my favorite a non-musical, non-shakespearean plays of all time. Inherit the Wind was a book my eighth grade class was assigned to read. It is a dramatization of the famous the monkey trial (aka the Scopes Trial). It's amazingly well written and has many three dimensional characters. Some characters you think you have all figured out but really, you do not. An example of this would be Hornbeck. You think this report is a funny and sarcastic yet more or less respectful man. However he mocks a man who died, on a small whim just because the man believed in creationism. According to Wikipedia (which usually you shouldn't use as a main source because it's unreliable, but. . .), "Creationism is the religious belief that the universe and life originated "from specific acts of divine creation"." Inherit the Wind is an amazing book because of it's message. The message is one of those golden rule sort of things. It basically says to respect each others opinions even if you don't agree with that said opinion.
