Chapter 1:

"There's so much pain and suffering in the world. We often become best friends with books and things."
A famous Qoute once stated.

I forgot the author of the book.

I wonder if it's mythical because it's so true.

I wonder if the insects and animals in the world ever think why is the world so harsh.

Sometimes I wish I could be like a droplet of snow not feeling anything just falling into the ground and disappearing.
See....

I wonder too much.

I think too much than sleeping. I daydream too much than concentrating.

"Esther. You're not focusing. Where are you?" Suddenly my literature tutor asks clearly annoyed.

I zone in the class.

Everyone is staring at me. I feel my cheeks burn.

"Esther. I just qouted a famous quote by Lewis Carroll in Alice in Wonderland. Can you say it?" Miss Humming asks trying not to lose her patients.

I gulp.

I wasn't listening.

So I remain silent....

Miss Humming looks at me her eyes fixed with concern and worry.

Some girl with red hair shoots up her hand up I the front row.

Esther nods are her. "Yes Thea?" She finally asks.

"She qouted " I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then". Thea says enthusiastically.

Miss Humming nods at her then she fixes her gaze at me.

"Esther. I need to talk to you after class. So please remain behind." Miss Humming shoots me a serious look.

"Yes Miss Humming." I mumbled looking down at my exam pad..

That qoute caught my attention though.

Like it kills me when I feel like I could go back to yesterday because it was so much better  than today.

Like what if...the person you were yesterday is not the same as today?

The present day is always better than yesterday.

Yesterday is history.

It reminds me of that qoute "Today I'm great. Tomorrow I'm the greatest "

Which means you always the greatest.

Literature class ends and Esther waits for me in front of the board.

"Class. Don't forget to read the chapter 8 of our novel we doing  it for revision tomorrow."Miss Humming shouts over the noise of the students packing.

Her eyes are fixed on me as if I'm going to run away and dodge her.

She doesn't trust me.

I wait till the class has filed away then I walk up to her.

"Esther." She says my name as if she's just realised I'm alive and standing right in front of her.

She's slightly taller than me and slim with blonde bob cropped hair and warm browse eyes.

I look up. "Yes?"I enquire politely.

"Esther you're capable of doing so much more. You're clever. But you act like you not in class but you live in Alaska or The Bridge Of Terabhitha. Your focus is not here but elsewhere." She talks her voice hoarse.

I can tell she's worried about me.

"Look I'm sorry. I'll try and focus next time." I say simply not meeting eye contact with her.

"I think you need a tutor. I can give you extra hours after literature class and tutor you to focus. That's all. You need me so I can teach you to hold attention so much longer. I still need to investigate what's in your brain."

Alot. Trust me.

Ughhhh.

I can teach myself very well thank you.

"Um. Okay. If that works.' I blurt.

Wait...where did that come from?

Miss Humming claps her hand excitedly.

She actually looks like a teenage girl doing her clapping routine.

"OK. We start tomorrow sharp after classes." She orders.

I give up.

I nod then trudge off.
