Sirius's new apartment was small, though he really didn't mind. Soon enough all his canvases would get in and he'd clear out the back room and cram them in as best he could, but for now, he was quite content drawing werewolves and black dogs playing on his bedroom walls, right next to his few favorite paintings, which he'd hung last night before retiring to bed.

He really didn't expect to be up this early, but the unmistakable sounds of guitars from his new neighbor woke him up around 7:30, and he was never talented in the art of ignoring things, so he just took the opportunity to get up and make a cup of tea and a few strips of bacon.

His empty plate lay balanced on a stack of full sketch books near his door, and his cold tea was sitting on his headboard, dangerously close to falling over into his clean sheets; but Sirius didn't care. He'd finally gotten his own apartment, far, far away from his parents disapproving stares. And he'd be damned if he wasn't going to finish detailing the intricate fur patterns around the open mouth of the dog. As he was reaching down to get another pencil, the cup finally tipped, falling in slow motion as Sirius abandoned the pencil in an attempt to save his beautiful navy blue sheets from annihilation. Alas, he was far too late, though he did get a fair face full of tea as a punishment for even trying.

"Bloody hell." He grumbled, scrambling up and wiping his face on his grimy Beatles shirt. "Now i have to shower.."

Sirius didn't have a single towl, so he grabbed his leather jacket and set out, grabbing his keys from the coffee table before exiting his new home and locking up, glancing gratefully a his newly decorated door, which he'd spent all day yesterday painting into a rather glorious landscape which featured a sea of trees and a forest of algae and other water plants, a shattered sun with its counterpart, the moon, hanging unceremoniously behind it. He brushed his hands over his signature, in the top right corner of the door; small and black, in a tidy little scrawl: Sirius Black.

As he turned to walk down the long hallway, the door next to his opened suddenly. An awkwardly tall, shy looking boy stepped out, bending over a bit to get under the door way. Under his shaggy brown hair, his eyes twinkled with what Sirius could only describe as the artists look.

This was the musician who woke him up.

He wore a long sweater that was too big and a pair of dirty black jeans. On his fingers, which were just barely peaking out from the sleeves, there were several rings. The boy smiled at Sirius kindly, taking in his appearance as well.

"So you're the painter. Nice to meet you, I'm Remus. I do hope I haven't disturbed you with my practice, have I?" Remus asked, tilting his head to the side in a way that spoke of a hidden curiosity. His eyes sparked with a hint of mischief, though kindness spread thoughout them and covered it like a cloud over a lazy sun.

Sirius brushed his long black hair back with a paint stained hand, smiling himself. "I'm Sirius. You're rather good at guitar." He'd forgotten what he was going to leave for by now, and really, he was too busy analyzing Remus and the way he stood as if he didn't want to take up much space in the hall to want to remember.

Remus blushed, and nodded towards Sirius's door. "You're rather good at painting.." He glanced at his phone, eyes widening in panic. "Fuck, I've got somewhere to be.." He announced. "I'm sorry to leave you here, but I'll get my head chopped off if I dont move now. Goodbye!" He hurried along, waving behind him, down the corridor.

Once the tall boy was out of sight, Sirius finally remembered what he'd initially set out to get: towls. He wandered out the door into the awfully dreadful chilly air, which really didn't match the mood in his head. The sun was almost completely blotted out behind clouds of the darkest greys. All together, the scene outside his apartment was an inspiration, and he wondered if his landlord would be angry if he painted it on of the walls of his living room, it would match the colour scheme... He'd have to think on it more.
