Shadow Hounds

Shadow Hounds, like Abbi, feed off of shadows, darkness, the lack of light. Good Hounds can restrain themselves, taking small portions of a persons shadow, so it can be replenished. Bad Hounds will steal someone's shadow. It causes the person extreme paranoia and bliss, but almost always results in death. Shadow hounds have bright, glowing eyes when in their shadow form, and powerful ones can drain the light energy around them and convert it to cold, stale, grey shadows for a limited time.

Shadowhounds can steal a persons shadow, and trade places with that being for a short period of time, similar to ghost possession. All of these acts drain a shadow hounds energy quickly. These beings are strongest at night, and can usually feed simply from the night darkness, but its like a dog eating kibble all the time. Living shadows, attached to souls, is prime feasting. Feeding off other hellhounds is sustainable, but not nutritious or filling.

Shadowhounds eyes will change color sightly depending on their mood and eye color.

Bright Yellow = Fear or uneasiness
Dark Yellow/Gold = Temptation or playful deception
Bright Red = Danger, high alert
Dark red = lust and passion
Black = calm, emotionless
White = Draining Energy, feeding, or about to attack

Their populace is middle range for Hellhounds.

Shadowhounds have three forms. Human, dog, and Shadow. Their dog form can look like any canine, their shadow selves are typically 2D, only some feed enough for a three dimensional shadowself. Their shadow flows, waves, and drips from all over them. Some shadow hounds can have edges of flame or molten rock, but only very few, more powerful hounds.
