The sun shone brightly on my face, the warmth was indescribable. As I pulled the thick quilt covers over my face I spotted the alarm next to me; it said 10:12am, I muttered in anger,
''Shit, I'm late again.'' I ran to my closet and put on some warm clothes, my phone buzzed and I picked it up.
'Wake up!11!!!' the text said, it was from Scarlet. My closest- and only friend at school, my phone must've been on silent. I grabbed my bag and my text books, rushing down the stairs and walking out of the door without seeing anyone, as usual. I ran as fast as I could to school, it was obvious I was late and would defiantly get a detention. My heart raced as I ran quicker, running swiftly on the roads and gripping onto my bag tighter to keep it in place. My lungs were screaming for air and I finally made it at the school gates. They were shut and I had no idea how to get in.
'For God's sake.' I sighed, I muttered to myself and scanned around, there was nothing but herculean wind skimming my face. As soon as I started walking back home, the gates opened and I turned around, hearing their awful sound. Huffing, I ambulated via them and pushed open the door to the office. The lady was tall, she had short blonde hair and brown eyes. She handed me a yellow slip and told me to get to class. It had in letters: '10 Minute Detention Lunch Pass'. I scrambled it into my pocket and slowly walked to class, I didn't want to rush in, in the middle of a lesson and be looked at, so I waited around in the toilets for the next bell to ring. The lessons were boring on the time-table, so I just decided to skip them all and just go to the water fountain and get a drink. The bell for lunch echoed through the via halls, I went to the table I usually sat at for lunch and I saw Scarlet, her brunette hair was in a bun and her green eyes suddenly looked at me. She mouthed the words: 'See you later' to her other friend and started walking towards me, her eyes looked furious and I quickly put my sandwich down in fear.
''You were late! Didn't you get my messages or what?'' she spoke in anger. I hesitated, I wondered what to say.
''I over-slept and my phone was on silent..'' I replied. Scarlet's eyes changed emotion, they looked softer and she quickly covered her hands over her mouth and burst out laughing to herself. I looked around, swiftly wondering what she thought was funny and saw nothing that seemed humorous.
''Wh-hat's funny?'' I asked curiously. She leaned over to me and whispered,
''Your hair is sticking up and you're wearing your top on backwards you dummy'' she giggled and leaned back on the bench. I realized the holidays were soon, in fact they were tomorrow, for six weeks. I wondered for a moment what I would do in that time, I concluded it would be boring. Scarlet looked over at me,
