Chapter 1

Kelsey POV

Today, June 14th, is the day that the best field camp is sending out the emails to the people that qualified.

This isn't any ordinary field hockey camp. It's Camp Hokens.

Only the best field hockey players get in. Not to mention how expensive it is.

But you do get amazing food and awesome rooms.

I sit at my desk refreshing my email every second.

I've been here for the past 10 minutes refreshing.

I refresh two more times and give up. No email.

I sit back in my chair. I'm so disappointed. I've been trying to get into this camp for 2 years now.

"One last time. For good luck." I mumble to myself.

I click refresh and a new email pops up.

Congratulations, Kelsey! You have been selected to join Camp Hokens for this summer! Be prepared to join the best of the best field hockey players from all across America.

"I got excepted! Mom! Mom!" I shout with huge smile on my face running out of my bedroom.

It's 11:00 at night so she's probably trying to sleep.

I barge into my parents bedroom. I flick on the light switch.

"I got accepted into Camp Hokens!" I shout while jumping up and down

My mom instantly gets out of bed and hugs me.

"I'm so proud of you honey!" She squeezes me

"We can discuss this tomorrow. Let's go to bed." My dad grumbles

"This is amazing! Be supportive." My mom defends me

"I would be supportive if I want half asleep." My dad says into his pillow

"Okay fine. I'm so happy for you." My mom gives in

"Thanks mom." I say a huge smile still on my face

She kisses my forehead "Now get some sleep."

I nod and walk back to my room.

I sit back at my computer and read the rest of the email.

The coach is someone named Kerri Caniff and assistant coach is Taylor Caniff. They must be sisters. I hope they are nice. My other field hockey coaches were mean and strict.

I also share a room with a girl named Anna Reynolds.

I close the email and crawl into bed. I close my eyes. Except I can't sleep. I'm too exited.

This is huge. They even give college credits and scholarships out to the best players.

All I think about is how much fun I will have. I can not wait!
