The sunset cast beams of light onto the pale yellow house; you waited, watching the sun dip towards the hills from inside. It was as the sun began to be covered by the ridge of the hill that you stood up from your bed and clambered onto the desk. You lifted the window above you and stood on our black, wooden windowsill.
Waiting.
And as the last sliver of gold disappeared behind the hills, you stepped off the edge without a second thought.
You fell into the path of a speeding car.
It knocked you over.
Strike.
They said you were smiling as you died.
