Bittersweet
It's the missing piece in a puzzle
The lost beat in a song
Though it may seem broken
And though it may seem wrong
It's the thing to make me complete
Think happy thoughts
They say with sympathetic faces
Don't be sad they say
But if they understood
They would know
Melancholy is okay
Sadness with no obvious reason
They say that's what it is
But I think it's a state of being
Not needing much analysis
Though I may hurt I still will smile
Though the light won't shine within
But maybe one day it'll light up again
And the bulb will no longer be dim
