Chapter three.

'Beep, beep, beep, beep beep be-'

My alarm clock sounded as I hit the dismiss button. I do a little stretch before getting out of bed, and I swung my legs to the side of the bed, wiping my face with my warm hands. My guinea pigs heard me get out of bed so they wouldn't stop squeaking. I looked over to my babies and they were climbing the front of their little home trying to eat the bars. That means breakfast time. I got out of bed and stretched once more, before getting their breakfast from near their rustle. The rustle of the packet of food just made them get louder and more excited. As I poured their breakfast into their little bowl, I noticed the sun shine through my curtains. After feeding my babies I went over to the curtains and pulled back the drapes to reveal the boiling beams. Everything was so fresh today, if that makes sense. It feels like I've woken up in a more lovely alternative universe. I'm not complaining, it just feels weird, but nice.

After almost sweating within seconds of opening up the curtains I decided to take a nice refreshing steamy shower. After turning the shower handle the steam filled the whole of the bathroom, fogging up the mirror and windows, creating an amazing rejuvenating steam mask. After letting the hot water soak into my skin for a while, I decided to get back into my pajamas. Having a warm relaxing shower and then getting into comfy clothes is the best feeling ever. Especially fluffy socks that hug your feet.

After I got back into some clean, fresh, warm pajamas, the sweet scent of pancakes slowly floated and kissed my nose, letting me know they were ready to be devoured. I quickly reached for my little tub of pills and quickly swallowed one. My attention was still fixated on the beautiful smell, I let the smell lead me downstairs, all the way to the kitchen. I was surprisingly shocked to see the whole house spotless. I looked to the side, the windows were slightly open, letting in fresh air, and as I looked to my left, my mum, looking very neat and cleaned up, was stood at the cooker, baking fresh pancakes. Her hair, which is normally unbrushed and dull, looked like it had life today. It was brushed and neat and actually looked quite nice. Her glasses, instead of being slapped on her face, were nicely put on her head.

Just as I was walking towards the kitchen counter, which is normally stacked of papers, Pork chop ran into the kitchen, smelling the delicious food. She jumped on top of the counter, trying to reach her little head over to the pan, where mum was still baking some pancakes. She tried a good few times to stick her face in the yummy snacks. Pork chop scoped the area for a while, sniffing the air until she sussed a place where she could pounce.

'What's the special occasion?' I asked mum while leaning both arms on the kitchen counter leaning over to join Pork chop in trying to savour the smell of the pancakes.

'Why does there have to be a special occasion? Can't I just treat my beautiful daughter?' My mum said in a very upbeat voice, placing one finished pancake on the heaped stack.

'Umm, I guess so.' I reached over to try grab the leaning tower of pancakes. Unfortunately my mum pulled away the plate gently from my reach.

'Ah ah ah, not just yet. A few more to go.' She brushed her hands together, letting powder go everywhere, including on my face.

'Oh dear, you've got a bit of stuff on your nose.' She said not knowing she's the one who put it there. I used my sleeve and wiped the power off my nose. The wind was gently flying throughout our house, just giving a subtle breeze, making the pancakes more and more irresistible. Pork chop sat on the counter, hoping she would get some food if she was good.

'Well.' Mum said.

'Well what?' I said back.

'Well go sit at the table, or do you want to sit at the counter today?' She asked, still being overly polite.

'Really? You're not making me sit on the table to eat? Did you win the lottery mum? Where are the scratch cards?' I looked around everywhere, turning the neatly placed cushions upside down.

'Oh stop it will you.' She said putting her tea towel down on the counter.

'If I won the lottery do you think I'd just be making you and Pork chop pancakes?' She sounded very unserious, like that is still something she would actually do.

'Alright, jump on then.' She said pulling out a tall stool from under the kitchen counter and tapping it with her hand.

I ran over to the stool and plonked my bum right on it, ready to eat all those delicious pancakes. Mum reached over for the remote control to turn on the TV.

'More news huh?' I said sarcastically as she watches the news every morning before heading off to work.

'It's nice to know what's going on in the world sometimes Evange.' Mum turned on the TV and switched to the news channel. These pancakes were taking ages, I spent a good ten minutes eyeballing those pancakes hoping the more I'd stare at it the more likely they would appear right in front of me.

'Today's forecast has highs of 25 degrees for the most part of today. However later on in the day we will be experiencing thunderstorms throughout the night. It is suggested everybody stays under shelter this evening, as this could be the biggest thunderstorm we have had for two years.' The weather man said in a stern voice.

Mum picked up the plate of pancakes, stacked until she could stack no more, and places the plate in front of me.

'Are these all for me?!' I said in delight, ready to dig in.

'Yep, I made Pork chop his own.' Mum said putting Pork chops specially made pancakes into his little bowl.

Pork chop ran to her bowl, after spending ages trying to stick her face into the pancakes, and sniffed around until she was sure those were the pancakes she was smelling. He sniffed, and sniffed, but turned her nose up and pranced back to me and my stack. Whilst mum wasn't looking I slipped Pork chop a pancake from right at the top, and mum turned around just as Pork chop ran away, happily with his food. She's probably gone to sit and eat that on my bed knowing her.

I picked up my knife and fork, ready to devour all this food, just when mum walked over to the table with whipped cream, melted chocolate, and extra sugar.

'You never let me eat this much sugar!' I was officially so confused.

'Shut it and dig in.' She said giggling, pouring about half the can of whipped cream onto my pancakes, and drizzling the hot, melted chocolate on after.

'I'm not going to argue with that!' I said before taking the world most massive bite!

'Well, what do you say we go out for lunch then?' Mum suggested leaning over the kitchen counter, towel in one hand, and a big grin on her face.

'Yeah sure, only if we go for my favrioute though.' I tried to say with a mouth stuffed full of delicious goodness, laughing at the same time, trying not to spit. Mum laughed also, I'm pretty sure she understood what I was saying.

'Burgers or chicken nuggets then?' Mum giggled.

'How about both since you're spoiling me?' I asked with a big gooey grin on my face. Probably had pancake stuck everywhere in my teeth, but did I care? Nope.

'Alright then greedy guts, if we're going to go out for lunch and be back in time for this thunderstorm we need to get going!' Mum tried to explain putting the towel over her shoulder and emptying out Pork chops bowl into the bin.

'Come on speed it up fat bum!' Mum laughed.
