"What's gonna happen to me?! I've never had to go to the principal's office! Will this go on my permanent record?! Am I going to be suspended?! Or worse, EXPELLED?!?!" I frantically asked myself as I sat outside of the principal's office.
As I asked myself paranoid questions, I heard an annoyed sigh next to me. "Shut up Mr. Goody-two-shoes, we both know that you're gonna get out of here without punishment and I'm gonna be in alot of trouble." Damien said next to me with a huge frown.
"Hey! It's not my fault you got caught punching me in the stomach!" I argued with a frown before quickly shutting up when he glared at me.
Suddenly the principal walked out and looked at us both. "Damien and Declan... your teacher says she caught you two fighting in the hall."
"Well, that's not exactly what hap-"
"Declan started being very rude to me, so I told him to stop. He shoved me, I shoved him, eventually we got into a fist fight." Damien said, rudely interrupting me.
"But that's not what happened!" I said with an angry expression.
"Declan, what's your side of the story?" The principal asked with a serious expression.
"I was doing my usual thing when Damien came out of nowhere and punched me in the gut!" I said in annoyance.
The principal gave Damien a wierd look before once again returning his attention to me. "Has this happened before."
I was about to say how often it happened when I saw Damien glaring at me. He was probably already planning on hurting me for this, and I didn't want any more trouble than I already had. "No... this was the first time."
"I see." The principal said before leaning back into his chair. "I'll be calling both of your parents tonight. Declan, since this is your first offense, I'm going to let you off with an hour of detention, but don't let me find out this happened again. Damien, you're suspended for the rest of the week."
"No fair!" Damien said in annoyance.
"Get back to class." The principal said on response.
In my opinion, those punishments were definitely fair. This was the first time I've gone to the principal's office and I've had a perfect record since 6th grade. Damien had already gotten caught beating up kids multiple times, he deserved what he got. Either way, I was happy. With Damien being gone for the rest of the week, it guaranteed peace for me and my fellow nerds.
The only problem was the fact that I already knew what was going to happen when Damien came back to school. He was definitely going to make me regret this. But, as long as I was in peace, I was going to enjoy it.
As I walked from the principal's office towards Algebra 2, I had a rude awakening. My joy of Damien being gone made me completely forget that Damien had friends that were equally as violent as him.
"Hey Dork-lan!" One of the neanderthals, Dylan, yelled out to me as I walked.
"Oh shoot..." I mumbled to myself as I stopped in the middle of the hall.
"Where's Damien? We saw him going to the principal's office with you." Another one, Matthew, said as he approached me.
"Uhh... I have n-no idea where Damien is." I said with a nervous smile.
"Did you hear that stutter? He's lying." Dylan said with a smirk. "Now, tell us where he is runt."
"He uh... he got suspended." I mumbled.
"Suspended?!" Both of them yelled at the same time.
"You got Damien suspended?! What the hell is wrong with you dickwad?!" Matthew yelled in an angry tone.
