I woke up at 6 am to the sound of my alarm. I unlocked my phone and slowly made my way out of bed.

I walked to the bathroom and turned the shower nozzle. I was too tired to feel like taking a shower, but I didn't wanna smell when I arrived in LA.

I stripped off my pjs and hopped into the warm water. That definitely woke me up.

I got out of the shower and wrapped my hair and body with a towel. I brushed my teeth, and then walked back to my room. Since I was going to be on a plane for hours, I wanted to be comfortable.

I pulled out a pair of my pink sweatpants and the matching hoodie, and slid that on. I walked downstairs to see if my mom was awake. She was in the kitchen making some quick breakfast and coffee.

"Hey sweetie. Sleep good?" She asked.

"Not the best. I'm just a little nervous."

"Honey, there's nothing to be nervous about. You're gonna have a great time with your father." I nodded at her statement. I hope she was right.

"We should probably get going in about 15 minutes to get to the airport in time", she mentioned. The sooner it came, the more I got butterflies in my stomach.

"Ok." With that, I ran upstairs to start dragging my suitcases one by one, down to the door to be carried out.

Once all of my bags were put into the car, my mom and I headed towards the airport. The drive was quiet and emotional. We didn't talk. Just stared and thought.

It took about 30 minutes until we arrived at the airport. We got everything settled, now we just waited for my flight to be called. We both sat and spared the last moment we had together until I came back home months from now.

Suddenly, they called out something that I was dreading to hear at that point.

My mom looked at me and started crying, which made me cry as well. We hugged eachother for what seemed like hours. I was going to miss her so much.

The last call for my flight came through the intercom causing me to pull away from our long embrace.

"I love you mom. I'll call you every night to check in."

She looked at me trying to calm herself down.

"I love you more mace. I'm going to miss you so much." We hugged one last time and gave eachother a kiss on the cheek before I got my bags and walked away.

I looked back one last time and waved as she waved back to me. I wasn't sure how well I would handle being away from my bestfriend for so long.

I found my way to where I would be sitting until I got to LA. I got settled, put in my earbuds, and stared out the window hoping this flight would go by quickly.
