A Silly Love Song

Mac went home by riding his "ole truck". As he entered his room, he started to write a poem again:

How lovely thy smile, how bright thy eyes,

Thou art the merriest maiden of this world,

Compare thee to anyone, and all I'll say are lies,

For nothing can compare thee, thou art the only one in this world.

Forgive me, milady, of these few "corny" lines,

For I am no great poet, I am no Shakespeare,

I know not if this is a poem for sometimes 'tis out of rhymes,

But all these words are from my heart; for thee I am sincere.

Shall I compare thee to a beautiful white rose,

For thou art so pure, thy soul is holy,

Thou art the angel sent to console all my woes,

Hold me, and I'll feel better, kiss me, oh how happy I'll be!

Shall I compare thee to a twinkle little star,

Thou art so shiny, and thy light inspire me,

But just like any star, from me thou art so far,

How I want to reach thee, and in my arms, I'll hold thee.

'Tis impossible for thee to be mine,

For thou art belongs to someone whom I cannot best,

But I'm still hoping, someday, some time,

That thou will come to me, and our love will ever last

After writing this poem, he entitled it: Feelings to Thee that I Kept Hidden, and then he signed it with his pen name, "Mr. Em". Mac was so focused that he didn't hear his mama, calling him for dinner. He was only startled when he heard a honk of a car. He looked at his window and there he saw Aileen in the front porch of her house, waving goodbye at Chuck. That was the only time that he heard his ma,

"Mac, darlin'! Dinner's ready!"

"Oh, yes, Ma! Comin'!"

He went downstairs and there was his mama,

"Are you that busy that I need to call you for like seven times?"

"Oh, sorry, mama! Won't happen again," then he kissed his mama's cheek,

"You're already a grown man, so, I won't need to scold you,"

And then, someone knocked on the door,

"There's Pa,"

Mac quickly opened the door,

"Hi, son! How are you?"

"Fine, Pa. Let me help you with this," and Mac took his father's briefcase,

"How's work?"

"Very tiring, but everythin's fine,"

"If that's the case then you're in luck coz you're just right on time for dinner, hon,"

"I bet that's a great meal,"

"And why is that?"

"Do I really need to say it? I know that you know it,"

"Yes, you need to say it,"

"Of course, you made this meal,"

"Y'know, Pa, you really know how to sweep a girl off her feet," said Mac,
