piano lesson ; kimshi

sugawara: 18, kimberly: 15

gracing her gentle fingers on the keys reluctantly, she began playing a piece that she had learnt long ago. it reminded her of many things, and—

the door opens.

she stopped her playing and shot a glance at the door, revealing a certain silver-haired boy.

"eehh? why'd you—" qq paused in mid-sentence, to see the male at the door, "oh, ossu, koushi-san!"

it was deemed as rather rude to call someone by their first name in japan, but qq and her friends were not raised in japan and were already taught to call people by their first names, so the karasuno team understood.

"ossu, q-chan," sugawara said with a smile, before turning his attention back to kimberly, "that was good! when did you start playing the piano?"

"since i was in primary school," kimberly answered, preparing to close the piano.

"mama goose! you're not allowed to close the piano!" qq yelled, lifting the cover up, "you haven't even finished the whole song!"

"yes i have," kimberly lied.

"could you teach me how to play some piano?" sugawara asked, entering the music room rather eagerly.

"yo, qq, move back," van said, pulling the shorter girl by the shoulders, "let the couple have their moment."

"hey!" kimberly exclaimed.

"ssh!" qq said, pushing sugawara onto the piano bench, "you've gotta teach him piano basics!"

sighing, kimberly stepped forward, pressed the middle c, saying, "this is c."

she pressed the note after the middle c and said, "this is d."

she went on, pressing the keys up till b and explaining that the keys were "repeated", just in different pitches.

"okay, now place your thumb on middle c," she instructed.

sugawara did what he was told, and she said, "now put your index finger on d, your middle finger on e, so on and so forth."

he complied obediently, and kimberly stared at his fingers closely.

"you need to bend your finger when you press it," she said, adjusting his fingers.

"oh, soka," he said, blushing slightly.

from the corner of the room, van had her phone whipped out, snapping pictures, with a very high qq standing next to her.

"send me the pictures later," qq said, "this is gold."

"no! don't you—" kimberly said, launching herself forward to grab the phone as van quickly slid it into her pocket.

"too late," qq snickered, "now don't keep suga waiting～"

"ssh!" kimberly said, elbowing qq while her cheeks were dusted pink.
