~1990~

Ice Ice Baby blasted through the speakers. Vodka flowed in everyone's cups. The smell of weed lingered in the air. Classic house party.

"Delilah do you need a top up?" I turned around to see my best friend Kelsey stood behind me holding a bottle of vodka. I glanced down at my plastic cup which was still half full.

"Nah I'm good thanks," I answered and took a quick swig of my drink. Somehow I never got used to the taste of vodka but I was thankful that it had made me drunk. I needed a release. I took the time to looked around at everyone and soon realised I didn't know most of the people here. I spotted a boy stood in the corner on his own. He held a red plastic cup and stared down at his shoes. As he was distracted by his footwear I looked him up and down and decided he was cute. He wore a plain, loose white t-shirt and baggy denim jeans with a black bomber jacket on top, it was simple but he made it work. Suddenly he looked up and I studied his face. His baby blue eyes instantly caught my attention, bet he broke some hearts with those. And his cheekbones were to die for, it's not fair that boys have such better bone structure than girls. I felt a nudge on my hip and I looked away from him and back to Kelsey.

"I saw you eyeing up that boy," she said with a smirk on her face.

"He's cute, I can't help it!" I replied giggling a little.

"Yeah he might look good but apparently he's pretty boring," Kelsey responded, causing me to frown.

"Well have you ever spoken to him?" I asked her, trying to prove a point.

"No but I've heard that he only talks about politics," she said, scrunching her nose up in disgust.  God forbid a boy was smart.

"Well politics can be sexy," I replied making both of us laugh. "I'm gonna talk to him." As I walked away from Kelsey she playfully slapped my bum causing me to laugh out loud. That caught his attention and he stared over at me. I maintained eye contact with him as I made my way towards him, swaying my hips slightly. He looked by down at his shoes, obviously feeling nervous about the eye contact.

"Hey cheekbones!"
