In the Epilogue sequence, they dance by a gas station set. The building is white with red stripes. This is a reference to the Esso station at the end of "Umbrellas of Cherbourg" as well as the paintings of LA artist Ed Ruscha, who paints an iconic image of a Standard gas station. The gas station designs are similar because both were branches of the same oil company - "Esso" being the phonetic version of "S-O" for "Standard Oil."
