The five continued swimming in the ocean until the sun started to sink in the sky. They all watched in awe as the sky faded from blue to orange, to a dark, crisp black.

"Well, that was a lot of fun... but my fur is going to take forever to dry," Asriel laughed, as they headed inside.

"You poor thing," Connie replied, but she, too, was laughing.

"C'mon, let's get inside," Steven continued, opening the door just as the warp pad sounded. Asriel, Sans, and Papyrus stared at the new figure standing before them, as the light of the pad disappeared, only to leave-

"Hello, Steven. Hello, Connie. Good to see you again." Garnet started, stepping off of the warp. She, too, stared at the monsters for a few seconds before asking "Who are your new friends?"

"Hi, I'm Asriel!" he started, waving.

"I'm Sans, and this is my bro, Papyrus," Sans continued, jabbing a thumb at his brother, who was also waving.

"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Garnet," the large gem replied, much calmer than the others. "If I'm not mistaken, you three are very far from home...?"

"Yeah, it's... a long story," Connie answered for them, looking down.

"We have time," Garnet said, and with that, the two humans started their story, with Asriel jumping in and Sans and papyrus adding their own bits and pieces.

"Interesting." That was all Garnet said after their tale was finished.

"What went wrong with the warp stream?" Steven asked, breaking the silence.

"I am unsure. However, I'm sure whatever it was, it was for a good reason. However, until then..." Garnet looked over at the monsters. "You are welcome to stay with us."

"Thank you so much!" Asriel proclaimed, smiling.

"We appreciate it," Sans followed, just when the temple door opened once more.

"They're still here?!" Pearl asked, emerging from the back with Amethyst. "Ugh, nevermind that, we don't have time time! Garnet, there's another gem mons- er, I mean, a corrupted gem, that somehow made it's way into the city!"

"Why did you stop saying mon-" Amethyst started, but Pearl put her hand over her mouth.

"ZIP it."

"That term might be a little... sensitive, at this point," Steven whispered.

"Oooh, I get it," Amethyst whispered back, after pushing Pearl's hand aside.

"Hello?" Sans asked, and the three turned to look at him. "I've been trying to tell you... Asriel's gone."

"WHAT?!" Pearl shouted, running outside. "Where did he go?!"

The young monster was, sure enough, standing back out on the beach side, face to face with a large, corrupted beast. "Howdy! I'm Asriel!" He started.

"ASRIEL, LOOK OUT!" Steven shouted, jumping of the porch and floating back into the sand

"Steven? What's wrong?" Asriel asked, but when he had his back turned, the gem slashed at him, and trapped the young monster under his foot.

"Asriel!!!" Connie yelled, running back down to the beach.

"I'm OK... I'm just stuck under his foot!" he argued, struggling to break free.

"OH NO! DON'T WORRY, ASRIEL- I'LL GET YOU FREE!" Papyrus walked up the the gem monster, looking up at the beast. "GEM! FIGHT ME!!!"

Connie tugged on Steven's shoulder. "Let's go, Steven!" He nodded, already knowing what to do. In seconds, the familiar glow of white light flashed before the group as Stevonnie stood, once again, in the eyes of the monsters.

"Sans, can we get some backup?" The fusion asked, grabbing Rose's sword as she summoned Steven's shield.

"Yeah, sure, just give me a minute..."
"SANS!"
"Ok, ok," He said, smiling as he summoned multiple 'gaster blasters'. Shooting them one at a time, Stevonnie took to the backside as the skeleton created a diversion. Instead of working as planned, the gem snatched up Papyrus, and Sans froze. "Oh, jeez..."

"That's OK, you've done enough," Stevonnie shouted, as she jumped up in the air as high as her floating powers would allow her. In one slash, the sharp blade poofed the gem back into its crystalline shell, as Papyrus fell into the sand and Asriel slowly stood up.

"Thanks..." the young monster said quietly, trying to comprehend the past events.

"Don't mention i-" Stevonnie started, but Papyrus jumped up and hugged her.

"STEVONNIE! WE'VE MISSED YOU!" He shouted, and the fusion laughed.

"Has this happened before...?" Pearl asked, noticing Garnet's wide smile.

"We've been introduced..." Sans replied, only to receive a glare from the white gem.

"Oooohhhh... my head..." Asriel moaned, holding his hand up to it. "Remind not to be under the foot of a corrupted gem."
Another burst of light emitted from the beachside as Stevonnie phased out of existence. "Ok then," Connie replied sarcastically.

"All right," Steven laughed, playing along.

"I've never been in a real fight like that before..." Asriel stated.

"THAT'S OK, ASRIEL!" Papyrus said, stepping in front the of three. "I'LL KEEP YOU SAFE, JUST LIKE A REAL MEMBER OF THE ROYAL GUARD! NYEH HEH HEH!"

"Thanks, Papyrus," Asriel said quickly, as he and the others ran but up to the beachouse.

"WHERE IS THAT BAG OF BONES?! HE'S LATE FOR HIS TRAINING!!!" Undyne picked up a tree, pulling it's roots up from the ground.

"I-I'm sure they can't be t-too far..." Alphys argued, but Undyne just threw the tree into the distance in response.

"I hope so."
