Can't Do It

"Does he know about that situation?" Taylor asked.

"That's none of his concern."

"But aren't you sending the money he gives you to your family?"

"When the time comes I'll break it to him and explain myself."

"Better hope it doesn't backfire and bite you in the ass."

"And if anything you always have a backup plan and can find another baller quickly so you'll be back on your feet in no time. So there's no need to worry about the ex just let nature take its course." Simone said.

They just don't understand I don't want that to happen because I want him to myself and yes I have my side boos too I mean who doesn't? Yes I was hurt for what he did to me but I'm not going to put all my eggs in one basket. But I'm willing to drop all of them if he commits to me and me only but seeing how things are going that won't happen so I need to think ahead. It's bad enough to have secrets in a relationship we all have them but my secrets could make or break us, I don't want to lose what I worked so hard for. What's a girl to do?

Rayne POV

"Why are you here so early?" I asked Odell as I let him in and we walked into the kitchen.

"You know why I'm here. When are you gonna start cooking? I don't smell anything."

"I'm about to start and everybody supposed to bring food, so where's your dish?"

"My mama bringing it."

"I was just on the phone with her, she's not in New York. So where's the food?"

"So see what had happened was...."

"That's all you negros do come empty handed and expect to eat everybody else food."

"So you just gone let me starve?" He walked up to me.

"Maybe. You need to lose some weight in that head of yours."

"Is that right?"

"Odell stop!" I started screaming and laughing because he started tickling me. He kept tickling me until I begged him to stop with tears running down my face.

"You play too much." I told him after I got over my laughing fit.

"I'm sorry." He pulled me in for a tight hug.

He then let me go and went to sit at the table.

"Thank you for the lilies you bought even though you shouldn't have, they're beautiful." I began to take out everything I needed to make my famous shrimp fried rice.

"Don't worry about it. Just a gift from one friend to another. What did Andre the Giant do for you on Valentine's Day?"

"He took me to an art gallery. Believe it or not I enjoyed it."

"Since when did you like art?" He looked through my mail on my table.

"It was something different and get out of my mail, nosy."
