She screams, but no one can hear her. She's petrified, but no one will find her. She panics, but no one can help her.  She will be forever traumatized by the incessant reminder of what happened. Over and over, it can never leave her mind.

At least she escaped. The only thing is, those who escape, are left untreated.

* six months earlier *

June 23rd. Erin looked up at the bland sky. No cloud cluttered the earth as amid silence and shimmering heat danced around Erin's neighborhood. This day of summer was killing her. She let out a heavy sigh as beads of sweat dropped from her forehead to her sweat-stained face. Despite the mass heat, she loved the outdoors, even when there was not a thing to do.

_______________

As I lay up on a white bed, rubbing my head and neck as I look around the room confused, I ache in pain and let out a small scream. The pain travels from the top of my head to the bottom of my neck. I look at the door and see a man standing their, looking at me as if he was in love with me. As far as right now, it creeped me out. He walked over to me stopping at the foot of my bed.

"What am I doing here?" I politely ask, seeing if he knows the answer. He looked about my age, 18.
"You got hurt young lady, I found you lying outside your house this morning, blood profusely coming out of your head," he answers giving me chills that went down my spine. That shut me up. I went to open my mouth but nothing came out. A few minutes of awkward silence passes when he asks me,
"Where are your parents hun?"
"Maybe working, I don't remember."
"You don't remember?" He sounds more confused than ever.
"That's what I just said dude, mind telling me your name?"
"Uh.. sure it's Trey."
"Nice to meet you Trey, I'm ---" I'm cut off from coughing blood. A lot of it. Trey rushed over and pressed the nurse call button.
"HELP!" He screams as he runs to the door. I still have blood coming from my mouth, now hurting my throat and chest. A few nurses run in as I fall back, passing out.

_______________

I feel like I am finally awake. Awake but the pain is hurting so bad. What's wrong with me? Am I ill? How long was I asleep? I ponder on further.

I lay there hearing the birth of silence as it roams through the air of my hospital room. The hospital is dark. Dark and quiet. Quiet and empty. Empty and abandoned.

It took about ten minutes until I stopped staring at four walls and stood up. Being on my feet felt so different. It felt like a change. I look around the dark room and feel frightened from the quietness of the hospital. As I walk out into the hallway, little light shines through the small windows from every room. All the doors were open.

A little breeze hits my pale arm as I walk past one of the rooms. I look into it. Empty. When I finally reach the elevator it was open and was dark inside. I wonder if it still worked so I walked in and pressed the ground floor button. I didn't know what floor I was on but I knew I was not on the ground floor.

It worked. Weird. When I arrived at the bottom of the hospital, I searched for the front doors. I was ready to get out of this place. It was making me feel like I was being enclosed in it.

I walked outside. I was in the city. There was no other human around. It felt like the world was also empty. My hospital gown flew upward; I quickly held it down. The wind and rain made me freeze. The sky was a bland grey and the streets puddles reflected the beautiful scenery I was admiring.
"My name.. is Erin." I whisper to myself, trying to remember the sound of my own voice. It sounded raspy.

In three seconds I could say I walked into the street and stood there, but I was now laying on the wet ground. A car purposely crashed into my back. As my eyes start to shut on their own, someone picked me up holding me like a bride. My back aches from where the car hit me. Blood slightly leaves my mouth.

They lay me down in the backseat as I rest again.

_______________

Finally waking up, I have an excruciating pain in my back. I scream. I scream for help. I scream of pain, but my throat hurts so bad nothing comes out. Just the sound of my breathing is all that fills my ears.

"Thanks for helping get her." I hear a women say, as it echoes against the walls. It's a little dark. It feels moist in here. Where am I?

"My pleasure." another voice responds. I hear footsteps coming near where I was tied up. I was in an uncomfortable chair. Ropes kept me down everywhere. I shut my eyes immediately.

"Wake up!" one of the ladies yell. I slowly open my eyes as a hint of sunlight shines on my eyes.

"She's pretty, Ari." the younger looking girl whispers.
"Shut up Stas." Ari responds sounding a little jealous, she turns to me, "Where's Trey."
"Trey? Why do you want Tr- matter of fact how do you even know him?" I answer.
"Oh, you wanna know?" Ari asks me, sounds very glad to let me know the details.
"Omg, she really doesn't know.." Stas buts in sounding shocked.
" He's killed one of our own, the strongest of the three, her name was Kristen." Ari tells me, a hint of anger in her voice.
"Trey? The one that saved me and brought me to the hospital?"
"YES THAT TREY!" Ari is getting impatient.
"So you have no idea what he is capable of." Stas indicated.
"I do know what he's capable of, saving my life, now get me out of here." I respond.
Ari looks at me before saying, "Until I find Trey, you are staying right there."
Stas buts in again, "Listen, I don't know what you thought you knew but the one you say 'saved your life'... lied to you... He is the one who almost killed you."
