Celestials

Part 1

Introduction

This current Earth, home of the humans, is thriving. They have survived many generations without the Celestials intervening. Of course Wade, the earth Celestial, is planning revenge on his father, the Sun, by kidnapping one of the eldest twins, Melony or Xavier. Oh, but this is only the beginning of a brilliant journey. How this will play out, not even the time Celestial knows.

Melony - September, 1799 (I guess)

Xavier and the others ran around in the yard goofing off as usual. I sat on the rooftop, reading. Our parents, the Sun and Moon, had given us choice just last year, live on Earth or stay in The Sky. We all decided to live on Earth. I knew they were watching, I could feel their eyes on my back, watching our every move. Xavier threw a ball at one of the others, they were playing a game. Charles caught it and to get keep it away he threw it in a random direction. It flew up onto the roof knocking my book out of my hands. I stood up.

"Could you at least play away from the house?" I asked Xavier.

"Why don't you come down and join us?" He asked me, ignoring the question.

I was like the mother raising all of them, but I was okay with it. I frowned and opened the window into the house. I could hear one of the others mocking me.

"My name is Melony and I hate playing. It should be work, work, work all the time," It was Maxwell. I didn't want to work all the time, things just had to be done.

I frowned again and walked down the hall to the kitchen. Night was beginning to come. Our mother would be switching shifts with Dad soon. I started a fire and began to cook some dinner. Xavier was still outside; they had started to play charades. Xavier was walking around with his legs spread out and saying "ooh ooh eeh eeh." A monkey obviously. The water began to boil. I added the ingredients and mixed them around. Within minutes the food was done.

~ time skip forward in time ~

Everyone was asleep, I climbed out through my window. Mom was watching somewhere up on the moon. I laid down on the shingles, watching the stars. It felt good knowing that someone was watching you, making sure you did the right things. I smiled and closed my eyes. The serenity of the sky was comforting.

Xavier

I didn't know why Melony was so distant, but it didn't matter. What mattered was that we were all together. Jamie, one of my brothers, came up to me.

"Come on Xavier, let's go play!"

I smiled and followed him. The other siblings all waited at the edge of the woods. "All right, come close. I need to let you know something before we go in."

They all nodded.

"We're trying to survive, there will be monsters of all sorts in these woods. In fact, we should go in teams. The goal is to reach The Well, there we can rest and then we can make our way back to base camp."

Teams were almost immediately made. I was part of a team with Maxwell and Keira. Before entering the woods, I looked towards the house. Melony was once again on the roof. I knew she was watching. I made a face and put my hands on my head so that they looked like antlers. I swore I could see Melony make an angry face at me. I turned back around and entered the woods.

There weren't really any monsters, just dummies I had set up a while ago. A wooden dummy jumped out of the bushes and silently roared at us. Keira immediately used her fire abilities and burned it to ash. I faked a frown, "Aww, now I have to make a new dummy." Keira smiled and continued on. Maxwell and I followed her.
