The Plot

Intro.

I laughed while brushing my teeth. I spat in the sink before shouting "I am, im brushing my teeth"

"Fuck fuck fuck" I said unwrapping and styling my hair as quickly as I could.

I quickly wrapped the towel around me and walked around my closet grabbing items to throw an outfit together. I looked in a couple of bags before pulling out my black Figs scrubs and a grey pair of crocs. I lotioned my skin and threw on my outfit.

I nodded my head in approval as I modeled in the mirror. I switched out my earrings and slipped a bracelet over my apple watch. After spritzing myself down in parfum I grabbed my phone, swiping over to instagram to record a video.

"Myli, if I tell you to come on one more time I swear" My mom yelled again.

I yelped a little before cheesing. I grabbed my Telfar bag throwing it over my shoulder before scooping my keys and closing the door. I walked up to my mom and kissed her cheek. I looked at her angry face and busted out laughing.

She scoffed and tilted her head before rolling her eyes before laughing. "Mija, you think its funny and its not okay? You think its okay to be late everyday and its not" She said pointing her finger at me.

"Ma, its its almost 8 am. Thats a whole hour" I said whining

"Yeah but you act like you dont go get Essence, then go to starbucks and then trying to record every. No ma'am" She said losing her breath at the end. I pursed my lips together to keep from laughing "This is your first day, you need to get it together"

"Ma, okay! I love you, I will see you later" I said turning on my heels. I got to the door and looked back. "Hello" I said tilting my head. "Ma, I said I love you" I screwing my face up.

"I love you too baby. I just need you to take something serious. Im proud of you for going back to school. Even if it's just for a certification. It's yours and nobody can take it from you. What are you gonna do when im not around" She said walking up to me.

I sighed dropping my shoulders before saying "Ma, I do take stuff serious. I have made so much money in that Garage and you know that. It's my first day. I'm going to be on time. Oh my God" I complained.

"Youre my only child, You're the only thing I got in this world. I want you to be good. Im just scared for you. Its about how you're going to navigate in this world without me. You know your father-" she cleared her throat as she continued "Just be careful okay. My sweet girl" She said cupping my face

I sighed and hugged her. She gave me this same speech atleast once a week. "Ma, im alright. My circle is very small. I do not go nowhere crazy ma, please. I gotta go" I sung as i laughed and danced out the door.

"You got everything right? you got money and everything?" She yelled out at me as I walked to my car.

"Yes, ma im good!" I yelled back getting in and locking the doors. I shuffled my playlist and pulled off.

"Im outside boo" I said into the phone. Moments later Essence popped out her house and smiled as she walked over to the passenger door.

"Not its 8:38 and you just now pulling up" She said as she closed the door. She placed her bag between her legs and cocked her eyes at me grinning. I let out a little laugh before holding up a starbucks up. She laughed and looked back at me. She rolled her eyes as she took the cup from my hands.
