now I'll teach you the rules :

korean is written into "blocks" that make up one syllable. One block has exactly one syllable. The blocks are ALWAYS in one of this ways :

|   1    |    1   |  1 2   |  1 2  |
|   2    |    2   |          |    3    |
|         |    3   |           |          |

Important rules that you need to know about this :

1 : Number 2 is ALWAYS a vowel. always always always
2 : Number 1, 3 (sometimes 4) are ALWAYS a consonants. ALWAYS.
3 : blocks containing a horizontally drawn vowel (ㅠ,ㅜ,ㅛ,ㅗ,ㅡ) are always drawn in one of this 2 ways :

|    1    |    1    |
|    2    |    2    |
|          |    3    |

4 : blocks containing a vertically drawn vowel (ㅓ,ㅕ,ㅏ,ㅑ,ㅣ) are always drawn in one of this 2 ways :

|   1 2   |   1 2   |
|           |     3     |
|           |            |

_ _ _ _ _ _ _

now that you know this is just put the vowels and consonants together to make blocks. For example - bab

1 : determinate if the vowel is horizontal or vertical - ㅏis vertical so we will use:

| 1 2 |   or   | 1 2  |
|       |           |   3   |

2: determinate if the syllable ends in a consonant - it does so we'll use 1 , 2 , 3

3: place the consonnat and vowel in 1, 2 ,3 :

1 2                ➡           ㅂ ㅏ    ➡      밥
  3                                    ㅂ

_ _ _ _ _ _

this table will you some of the ways to do it (without the final consonant) :

like you could see in the table, there is another consonant that i want to talk...
The things I have taught you before say that number 1 is always a consonant, so that means that every syllable starts with a consonant...but, when you place ㅇ at the beginning, is silent, so you read the sound of number 2, the vowel. For exemple :

안 - an
온 - on
운 - un
업 - eob

But if you place ㅇ at number 3, it sounds ng  , as in "walkiNG". For exemple :

강 - kang
방 - bang
깅 - king
공 - kong

also, the ㅇ can place both, 1 and 3 :

앙 - ang

_ _ _
Just one more thing:

ㅔ & ㅐ have very similar sounds, so they sound almost identically :

베 - be    (sounds like bay)
배 - bae ( also sounds like bay)

_ _ _

it is also possible for a syllable to have 4 letters, one vowel and 3 consonants. It essentially looks like :

|   1 2  |   1    |
|   3 4  |   2    |
|          |  3 4  |

1, 3 and 4 are always consonants. 2 is always a vowel.
if the vowel being use is horizontal, it looks like the structure on the right
if the vowel being use is vertical, it looks like the structure on the left
there is not many words that use this structure, so this ones are the most common:

앉다 - to sit
읽다 - to read
없다 - to not have
닭 - chicken
긁다 - to scratch

_ _ _ _ _
For finish, here are some words that sound like English words, because of the English influence. Try to read it :

호텔 - hotel
소파 - sofa
텔레비전 - television
라디오 - radio
스위치 - switch
게임 - game
쇼핑 -shopping
오렌지 - orange
팀 - team
피자 - pizza

_ _ _ _ _

okay and that's it for the reading part. Monday we will start with the grammar, like adverbs, verbs, and that. See you then and hope you liked it...sorry for any mistake in English...ask me if you have any question...
사랑해요 ❤
