Can't Let Them Die

Start from the beginning

"NO!!!" I screamed as I tried to get up. Lisa held me down. "DO SOMETHING, KENYA!"

Kenya walked back over to me and said, “Anthony, you need to calm down.” I ignored her and continued to struggle. Kenya pulled out a syringe and filled it with liquid substance. She took the needle and injected me with it.

-Ian's POV-

As I ran towards her, I managed to pick up the gun she used to kill Anthony and aim in at her.

I stopped about ten feet away from her, “You killed her! You fucking killed her, Kalel!”

“Yeah, I keep my word unlike you do, fat-ass,” Kalel snapped back at me, slowly approaching me. I mirrored her and stepped in the opposite direction.

I cocked the gun, “Stay the fuck away from me.” She kept getting closer and closer, “I’m serious Kalel!”

“And so am I,” She said as she raised the knife she had in her hand in the air.

I gulped before moving my finger over the trigger and pulling back. I watched as the bullet shot out of the barrel and flew through the air, lodging itself into Kalel’s heart. She dropped her knife and looked down at her shirt that began to stain red. She fell to her knees, helplessly trying to make her bleeding stop.

I walked up to her and bent down so I was eye level with her. She glared at me as I told her, “I always hated you, you know.”

“Same...here…” She managed to say before falling forward. I rose to my feet and turned around to see the guys running up to me. They pulled me into a group hug, congratulating me on ending this game.

**Lisa’s POV**

“Why did you do that?!” I yelled to Kenya.

“I had to or he would rip his stitches," She answered bluntly.

“What is gonna happen to Rachael?" Clare questioned, "Is something going to happen like what happened to Anthony? " Another vortex formed in the ceiling and Rachael dropped. She was bleeding more than Anthony.

“Does that answer your question?” Kenya remarked with a slight attitude, “Hey, help me get her up on this other bed.” Kenya pulled out new surgical instruments. Clare helped again to inject the adrenaline. Kenya looked in disbelief as she held up the instruments.

"Do you even know what the hell you're doing?" I asked her. "You're a forensic scientist, not a fucking surgeon!"

“I deal with people who are dead and aren’t able to bleed. So I have no idea how to stop the bleeding, but I have to try to help her.”

"You do autopsies, Kenya, not healing people!"

“But I can’t just let her die!” She yelled back.

Anthony had woken up from the tranquilizer and yelled at us,"Stop arguing and save her!" He stood up and walked over to us. “Kenya, I know you can do it. You saved me. You can save her. All you have to do is sew up her body, don’t you?”

“I can’t.” She angrily replied.

“If you need it, I will help you. Just try,” Anthony begged. She nodded her head and pulled out a needle and gauze.

“Okay, take this and soak up any blood that comes out.” He carefully followed her directions. She took that needle and sewed up Rachael.

That's when the vortex opened again and another body fell through.

“We’ve got another one,” Clare told Kenya as she flipped the person over, gasping.

“What now!” Kenya asked her as she finished up fixing Rachael. She directed Anthony to move her somewhere else, and when she turned around, she stopped in her tracks, “Kalel?”

“Are you going to help her?” Clare inquired. Kenya just stood there, speechless.

“Well?” I asked. “You can’t just let her die. Even if she did kill Rachael.”

Kenya glanced over at me, “Do I have to? I mean she really has no need to live.”

“Yeah I agree with her!” Anthony said.

“Yes, Kenya,” I growled at Anthony and Kenya, “She’s a human being and I don’t care how much you or Rachael or Anthony hate her. Save her god damn life!”

“No, I’m serious. I could always just turn my head and say she bled out.” Kenya said.

My jaw dropped, “You’re a monster, Kenya! What if it was you who was laying there? And Kalel wouldn’t help you just because you have ‘no need to live’?”

“And how was she any better!” She made a face and rolled her eyes, “ Fine, I need another needle, thread, and more gauze.”

“Thank you!” I exclaimed sarcastically as I got her what she asked for.

“Yeah, yeah whatever. But as soon as she wakes up I am gonna kill her!” Kenya said as she gave a sinister smile.

“You are not going to kill her,” I told her, “Even if it means the death of me.”

“That can be arranged!” I glared at her as I handed her the medical instruments. “Put more pressure, there is too much blood.” After an hour of trying to save Kalel it was no use, “Damn it!” Kenya yelled, “Lisa, I need you to check her vitals, see if she is alive.”

I took my hand and checked her pulse - there was none. “She’s dead.” I announced sadly.

Kenya stopped and said, “I’m sorry, I tried.” She wiped her hands on a towel and said, “There’s a body bag in the closet.” We wrapped her up and placed her in another room outside of the bunker.

While we were placing her there, I said to Kenya, “Is this what love does to a person?”

Kenya replied, “What Kalel did wasn’t love!” We walked back into the room with Anthony and Rachael. She was still unconscious. Anthony was holding Rachael’s hand while sitting on her bedside, Kenya continued, “Now, that is love.”

I looked at Kenya and back at Rachael and Anthony, “Yeah, it sure is.”
