Can't Let Them Die

Start from the beginning

“I don’t know,” I answered, “His stats were crossed off. He should be dead, but he’s breathing and his heart is beating. Lisa help me get him on one of these beds.” We both lifted Anthony up on a bed. “Clare I need you to go to the shelf, “ Clare raced over there, “Grab the largest medicine supplies box you can find.” As she brought the box over to me, I opened Anthony’s shirt to see a his chest bleeding immensely.

“Lisa, I need you to put your hands right here and apply as much pressure as possible.” I turned my attention over to the medicine box, and dropped off the top. Inside, I found sterilized surgical instruments: a scalpel, forceps, needles, thread, and a needle holder. I also found a syringe along with a small bottle of adrenaline medication.

I unwrapped the syringe and the adrenaline. I filled the syringe with the fluid, and said to Clare, “I need you to do something for me.”

I was running out of time. “Clare! Listen to me, I need you to take this and inject Anthony. The needle is thick, so it has to be injected through the leg.” I motioned, "Clare take the needle and put it above your head and hit his thigh.” I handed the syringe to her. She threw her hands above her head and followed through. The adrenaline was inside his body now.

“What’s happening to him?” Lisa said.

“I need you to move your hands now,” And she moved them cooperatively. I took the scalpel and made an incision on his chest, “I am using the adrenaline to speed up his heart and get him breathing again.” I saw a bullet was lodged in between his collar bone. I took it out with the forceps. “And this is what was killing him, Lisa I am going to clean out the blood, thread that needle.” Lisa did just that. I used the needle holder and sewed Anthony back together, and thankfully he was back to normal. I patched him up with multiple bandages.

“Thank you,” I said as I looked up at Lisa and Clare. “Without you both, he would have died.” I cleaned up the medical supplies and washed my hands.

"Rachael..." Anthony groaned.

"She's not here, Anthony," Lisa kindly and sympathetically said to him.

-Ian’s POV-

The other guys and I watched as Rachael and Kalel started to fight. I started to walk their way to break them up, but Joey kept me back. “Let her deal with this,” He told me. I didn’t want to, but I sighed and did as he said. After a few more hits, Kalel got on top of Rachael and pulled out a knife. I couldn’t hear the exchanges between them, but soon enough, I watched Kalel drive the knife into Rachael’s chest.

“NO!” I shouted as I ran forward. Kalel looked over her shoulder and saw me. She pulled the knife out of Rachael’s lifeless body and pointed it towards me.

-Anthony's POV-

I don't know how I got here. I remember taking the bullet for Rachael, and her crying over me, and then me dying. So how in the hell am I in this basement with Kenya, Lisa, and Clare?

“Anthony, Anthony! I need you to talk to me here.” Kenya said.

I glanced over at her, but said nothing.”Hey, wake up sleepy head." Still nothing from me. "Come on, Anthony. Talk to us."

"Where is she?" I croaked, "Is she okay?"

“She’s still in the...” Just then, the monitors behind us started going crazy. I sat up as Kenya ran to the screen.

“What's happening?" Lisa cried.

"Rachael's stats are dropping," Kenya answered, "It's like she's dying." Kenya moved over to a different screen to show Kalel and Rachael fighting. Things took a turn for the worst when Kalel restrained Rachael to the ground and pulled out a knife.
