"God, you look amazing." I heard a male voice in my ear as I squeezed my eyes shut. I didn't sleep very well, but I wanted to get as much as I could before the day got started with all the kids. I snuggled myself more into the bed, rolling over.

"Mmm." I partially smiled, but was still more then half asleep. Then I felt some of his weight over me, his lips nudging my ear. Then his fingers played in my hair softly. I opened my eyes the tiniest bit and it was still dark in the room.

"Hi baby." My husband whispered to me, a smile in his tone. His breath was warm on my cheek and that made me just want to sleep next to him throughout the entire day.

"Hi." I sleepily grinned, squinting my eyes at Nick. He kissed me, my brain barely functioning right now. I snapped right out of it, kissing him back weakly.

"I'll let you sleep for the next few hours." He started to get up, probably to go down to the basement or living room. I grabbed his waist as he stood next to the bed.

"Don't go." I whispered. I pulled him into bed next to me, scooting to his side so he could lay next to me. I wrapped my arms around his middle, my cheek against his back and I happily sighed. I closed my eyes and fell asleep again, feeling safe now that he was next to me. Like nothing bad could happen.

"Mama." Aster tugged at the sleeve of my long shirt. My eyes shot open and darted around before my gaze settled on my daughter.

"What is it baby?"

"It's time for school." I looked at the digital clock on the side table, and it was 7:46. Aster's class started in thirty minutes, and so did the other kids'. I sat up in bed and rubbed my thumbs into my eyes to wake myself up. Nick wasn't in bed next to me, and it I thought that maybe it was a dream at first.

"I'll be there in a minute. Are your brothers and sister up?" Aster nodded and I kissed her forehead. I smiled and my daughter walked out of the bedroom, leaving me to my thoughts. My hair was still curly from yesterday when I did in the morning, and my blonde locks spilled over the white pillows. I stretched out in the bed before deciding to get up and get the day going.

I could tell that no one was awake, and they just told Aster they were all up so I didn't yell at them.

"Get up!" I clapped my hands loudly so it echoed in the hallway. All my kids groaned, but I could hear Aster playing with her toys in the kitchen. I went downstairs, seeing my daughter with various toys scattered in front of her.

"Mornin baby." I said sweetly, going to kiss her cheek. Just then, my husband emerged from the basement. My eyes lit up once I saw him and I went over to him, Nick's arms open for me.

"I missed you sweetheart." He said, his arms around my middle.

"God, I missed you so much. Lucky for us, we've got an entire day to ourselves." I smirked at him, pulling out of his arms. He smirked back, and that's when the others kids came down. Except for Kane.

"Dad!" Lexi and Austin exclaimed, running to hug Nick.

"Hey guys." He hugged them both tightly, and I went to help Aster with breakfast. I put out a bowl of Fruity Pebbles cereal in front of my youngest child, and she smiled. The other two got their own breakfast, so I went over to sit by Nick on the couch.

"I forgot. Kane's suspended for two days."

"Suspended?!"

"Yeah. Got his third detention this week, the other day. So I had to go and pick him up, and he goes back tomorrow." Nick ran his hand in his hair, his jaw tightening.

"When will that kid learn?" My husband asked me, and I only shrugged.

"I know. I've had to deal with it for about a month. Alone." I raised my eyebrow at him playfully, and he fake gasped.

"How dare you accuse me of leaving you alone with the kids on purpose." I only pull his face closer to mine and kiss him.

"Gross!" Lexi yells, then stomps upstairs.

"What's her problem?" Nick asked me, his lips brushing mine. I shrugged.

"Girl stuff. It happened when you were gone." I snickered because I knew what his reaction was going to be. He physically cringed and I giggled. I stood up and went over to the kitchen by the kids.

"Wanna play mama?" Aster questioned, her brown eyes sparkling. I stuck out my lip a bit, giving her puppy dog eyes.

"I'm sorry baby, mama can't. We gotta get you to school." I ruffled her hair that still looked like it hadn't been brushed. I couldn't let my little girl go to school like that.

"Get out of my room!" Lexi screamed up the stairs, slamming her bedroom door. Nick and I looked at each other at the same time.

"Great to be home." He muttered sarcastically with a smile.
