The stunning Joe Manganiello as Lucifer.

Lucifer's POV

My alarm went off and I groaned, rolling over to turn it off when I heard a 'crack'. Shit. I looked over, and sure enough, I broke another damn alarm clock! That's like the third one this month! I got up and pretty much stumbled my way to the bathroom for my morning routine, you know brushing my teeth, peeing, washing my face. Not necessarily in that order.

I heard a knock at the door, "Sire? Are you ready? We need to leave for the meeting with the Human President."

Wait. . .

Th-that's. . . Today?

SHIT IM ONLY IN BOXERS!

"I'll be out in 3 minuets!" I hollered throwing my closet open and teleporting into my suit (thank fuck for demonic powers) and shoes. I grabbed my phone and wallet and then started running to the car, my secretary trying to keep up. I jumped into the already open door, and we were off. I hope we aren't late I will fucking cry and kill everyone I swear. I have waited half a millennium for this, I wont miss it because I'm not a morning person!

"Sire?" I turned to see my secretary, Tara, smirking at me. "Why didn't you just teleport to the car?" I just stared at her before swearing, I totally forgot I could do that. She just rolled her eyes, snickering.

After about half an hour, we pulled up to an old Victorian mansion. This was where the Human government did all their Human government-y things, and the President lived with his son. I, on the other hand, lived in a castle but to each their own. I liked my castle, he liked his mansion and we were close enough to easily meet up when necessary.

The butler? house steward? security? whatever the hell you call the guy in the suit who answers the door, let us in. He led Tara to a the parlor, then me to Maximus' office.

"Ah Lucifer, my old friend, how are you?" He stood to shake my hand when I entered the room.

"Excited, honestly." I chuckled "How about you?" Ugh I want to just skip the formalities and small talk, I want my Carrier!

"Doing good. Now, let's get to business and find you a Carrier hm? Albert's bringing tea up, let me just get the files, have a seat." He gestured to the couch while going behind his desk and looking through some papers. I took a deep breath, trying to conjure patience, and sat down.

See, how things worked was: he handles the Carriers and I handle Protectors. On the 13th of each month we switch files, he sends me Human Carriers and I send Human Protectors. This way it's almost always a Human-Demon pair up, trying to keep things as equal as possible between the races, to keep the peace. It's been this way since about a century after I broke the barrier, it took a little while to adapt and learn to work together.

"Tea" Albert? Was that his name? Said, setting the tray down on the table in front of me, just as Maximus slammed a drawer shut with a smile.

"Ah sorry, I found the files. Thought they went missing for a minuet." I just smiled politely, although I could feel a headache brewing and my eye trying to twitch. I really hated these meetings, they took far too long. Maximus has this habit of stretching things out as long as possible, so he could flirt with me. We were both Protectors, and he's not my type so it's just very annoying. I much preferred using mail or phone calls, not really a way to try and hook up so he actually does his job properly and work gets done. He's probably going to be extra awful today, seeing as I'm looking for a Carrier. And I don't even have Tara or Albert as buffers, bastard probably did that on purpose.

He cleared his throat "You know Lucifer. . ." He paused and I tried not to roll my eyes, here we go. "You don't really need a Carrier do you? You're just bored and looking for sex aren't you? If that's the case, I am more than happy to help you out. . ." I think he's trying to be seductive as he pulls on his tie, walking over and straddling me. Okay, i'll admit, didn't quite expect that.

He started grinding on me and I had to fight the urge to throw him through the damn wall, I mean come on! I have been turning him down for like 7 years, so why the hell won't he get the message!

I growled when he started kissing my neck and pulling my tie. "Get off." I'm trying to be nice.

He just smirked at me "Oh baby, you don't really want that do you? It's alright the rooms sound-proof and no one will interrupt, I promise." He tried to sound sultry and alluring, but I was just pissed the fuck off.

I threw him back onto the chair he was sitting on, but before I could even say a word, because I fully planned on lecturing him (throwing a tantrum), a scream echoed through the house. What the hell? Maximus looked... almost disgusted by the sound.

"What was that?" My rage temporarily took a back seat, now I was curious.

"That was. . . Christian." He looked like the name was like a gross medicine that you had to take, but really don't want to. But isn't Christian. . ?

"Isn't your sons name Christian?" Why would he look like that, talking about his own child? His only child? His Carrier had died in childbirth years ago.

"Yes, it's his 17th birthday. He leaves tomorrow, thankfully." He muttered the last word, but I still heard. Poor child. To grow up without a mother, and have his father act like this... Hmm this might be a good way to get him away from me... Yup!

"Well then! We should go see him! Your 17th birthday is important, and the mark can be painful." I smiled 'innocently' while he winced slightly, backed into a corner.

"Yes. I suppose we should." He tried to smile politely, but it came out as a grimace.

I followed him out to where Albert and Tara sat talking quietly. "Albert, do you know where Christian is?" His voice sounded extremely strained, and Albert couldn't hide his shock at the question.

"Ahem, yes sir. He was headed to his room." He stood and Tara followed suit as we followed him to the residential wing of the mansion.

He stopped at a black door with a toxic symbol on it, like the one seen on nuclear waste, that is popular with teenagers for some unknown reason. "Master Christian, are you decent?" Albert asked while knocking. Hm, interesting question. . . Then again he's a 17 year old boy so, fair question.

A muffled "Yea" was heard and he opened the door. "Your father and company wish to see you, young master." Albert sounded almost pitying, and a loud, upset "WHAT" was his instant response.

"What the hell old man? Why the fuck are you here?" The boy's focus went straight to his father, both of them looking irritated at seeing each other, but I couldn't focus on that. All I could see was how absolutely perfect the boy was. He held the beauty of an Angel, an impossible feat, i'd never seen anyone on Earth so stunning in my 600+ years here. He was short, probably 5'6", 5'7" with bright red hair, the bluest eyes I've ever seen, a nose ring with another piercing on the corner of his mouth, I have no idea what it's called. He was slender and lithe, but not weak. He is absolutely perfect and he is mine.

"We heard you scream while meeting, and decided to check on you." Maximus' face looked frozen in a painful grimace, clearly trying to hide his anger and disgust, and failing miserably.

"Oh, bullshit! I could be dying on the floor and you'd just tell me to shut up and die faster, so why the fuck are you bothering me? I need to pack, I finally get to leave this hellhole." My he has quite a mouth doesn't he? Maybe it's time to step in.

"I'm afraid this was my fault. I heard you and insisted, I know the mark can be painful." I smiled at him, trying to discreetly find said mark. Please let him be a Carrier, he's mine!

He snorted "Mhm, I don't buy it. The jackass was trying to molest you wasn't he? You are clearly a Protector, and Mr. Whore wants one cause he likes bottoming." He sneered at his father as my eyebrows shot up. Well. Now I know why Maximus won't take a hint, he's displeased with his mark, but he really should've gotten over it he's almost 40 for gods sake.

"Well then. Are you alright? What was your mark?" I tried to be calm and professional, but I needed this sweet boy to be a Carrier, MY Carrier.

"Hm?" He'd gone back to killing his father with his eyes. "Yea, no I'm alright, and I'm obviously a Carrier." He announced in a 'duh' tone, "Do I look tall, huge, muscly and strong like a Protector?" He asked with an eye roll.

I smiled triumphantly and turned to Max, "Well then it looks like our meeting is over, I've chosen my Carrier." I was answered with two identical looks of shock and, in sync mind you, they both yelled "SERIOUSLY?!"
