My mind wanted to stay hidden, but I felt the need to try and coax it out. What had happened? Making sure not to move, I tried to assess my situation. I was laying down on something soft. A bed? My head was propped up as if it was on pillows. I wished for my sight right now more than at any other part of my life. I felt like I was being watched. Where was Sasha???

"Sasha?" I called hesitantly. I heard a shift, and then Sasha's head was nuzzling mine. She whimpered low in her throat. I reached my hands up to stroke the fur on her head. "Where are we, Sasha?"

A voice started talking from somewhere on my left. "You are at Bane's residence. I shall alert him that you are awake." The voice was male. I heard the man get up from a chair before opening and shutting a door. I also heard the unmistakable click of a lock.

Sitting up, I reached out my hands to feel around me. I had been right, I was on a bed. Why kidnap me, and then give me such a nice place to recover? Finding the edge of the bed, I swung my legs down. My feet felt only air. I stretched my legs out, wiggling closer to the edge. Finally the tips of my toes brushed against carpet. Stepping down, I extended my arms before me, walking slowly. After four steps, my hands came into contact with a rough wall. Bricks. I followed the wall until I came to a wooden cabinet- I could feel the grains of the dead tree against my fingertips.

The door slammed open, and I jumped in alarm. "So, you're awake." It was another male voice. The man that had been in the room before had told me that he was getting Bane, so I assumed this was him. I heard Sasha growl, and I reached down to touch the top of her head, calming her.

"Yes." I replied. My brain screamed with questions, and I tried to sort out which ones were the most important. "You drugged me and brought me here. Why?"

"Well, you see Emily, you are... a puzzle. We, my doctors and I, are going to try and figure you out."

"So why not just ask me to come here?" I heard him laugh.

"We did our research on you, Emily. We knew you would not come willingly. You have had too many bad things happen to you to trust us and come freely." I mulled this over.

"The mystery you are trying to solve is not something you can cut open and find. If it was, I would not be alive right now. It must be something that you feel you can learn through observation, and possibly tests."

"You are a smart little girl, aren't you?" He was closer now, circling me as he talked. Trying to make me feel like the prey most likely. I knelt down and stroked Sasha's fur. I had to keep calm. I couldn't show weakness to this man.

"Am I to be kept prisoner here?"

"Yes and no. So long as you obey, you will have free rein of the castle. If you are difficult however, that freedom will be taken away." Jeepers, how many castles do we have in Triton? I thought there was only the Darth Castle. Unless we weren't in Triton anymore...

"Fair enough I supposed." For now I decided to play along. It wouldn't do me any good to start opposing him at this point. I stood up again, being careful to keep my hand on Sasha.

"What shall my days consist of, Bane?" I made sure to let him know by the sound of my voice that I did not think too highly of him. I would play his little game, but he did not control me. Even if he had kidnapped me. I heard a low growl in his throat. When he spoke a few seconds later though, his voice was relaxed.

"It is actually nighttime right now, about eleven o'clock. It took you awhile to wake up. So right now, your only job will be to sleep after we are done here. Tomorrow morning at eight, a guard will fetch you and bring you to the hospital we have on site. Then you will be observed doing various activities. At this point, that is all that you need to know." I heard his footsteps start to walk away.

"What about hygiene? Is there a shower I can use? Are there more clothes for me, or am I to wear these same ones the whole time? What about Sasha?"

"Sasha will stay in this room with you. There is a shower connected to your room. Clothes are in the cabinet. Goodnight." And with that he was gone. I groaned and put my head in my hands. I don't like to be dependent, but this is a whole new area to me. I have no idea where anything is. "Door," I said to Sasha, and she led me over to it.

I reached out to find the door handle, knowing it was locked before I even tried to turn it, but still needing to try.

"Hello?" I called, and knocked on the door. "Anyone there? I need help finding the bathroom." I waited for a good thirty seconds, but no one came.

Getting frustrated I banged on the door and yelled, "I'm blind, remember?!" With a soft click, the door opened.

"How is this supposed to work? We have never had any blind werewolves before." It was the first man that had talked to me when I woke up.

"What is your name?" I heard him hesitate.

"George."

"Okay George," I held out my hand, "Please show me where everything is." Ten seconds rolled by. Twenty. "There's really no other way to do this, George. I promise I'm not contagious." I heard a large sigh, and a warm but impatient hand filled mine. He started to pull me around the room. I reached out my other hand to feel the wall so I would remember where everything was.

"This is your cabinet with clothes." He pulled open the doors and I reached my hand in to tough them. "Pants," George directed my hands, "and shirts." They were hanging up neatly. He gave me a few seconds to grab one of each, tucking them under my arm, and then tugged me along.

I ran my hand along the wall again. One, two, three, four, five, six.

"This is your bathroom." He pushed the door open, and then walked me over to the sink, toilet, and shower. "You have to step up to get into the shower- it is a bathtub as well. Here is the shampoo and soap. Do you require anything else?"

I paused, deliberating. "Is there any way I can get a shaver, moisturizer, and facial cleanser? My face will literally fall apart without the cleanser and moisturizer. And after three or so days, my underarms will itch like no other. I might not perform as well on the tests if those two things are happening." I knew my argument was good. They wanted me at my best for the tests.

"I will see what I can do."

"Thank you, George." I said, smiling and looking at where I hoped his face was. "You can leave me in here now so I can take my shower."

"Right. Holler if you need anything. This is quite a different situation with you being...." I heard him trail off.

"Blind you mean?" It's hilarious how much kinder a stranger is to you when they find out you are blind. Well, they're either kind to you or try to stay as far away as possible.

"Yes. Goodnight." I heard the door shut, but felt around to make sure he was really gone. He had actually been pretty nice, considering, but I didn't want to chance him staying in the bathroom to watch me strip. I mean, he is a guy still. Satisfied he was gone, I got ready for my shower.
