"What's that smell?" Philip heard Lukas yell from the other room as he struck a match and lit another scented candle.
Lukas poked his head around the door frame and sniffed before looking at Philip.
"It's just a candle." Philip laughed, blowing the match out, "I bought new ones."

"What scent?" Lukas raised an eyebrow as he attempted to figure it out.
"Come over and guess." Philip waved his hand faintly as he shoved the box of matches in the drawer.

Lukas walked over slowly, picking up the warm glass with both hands.

"Umm... Liquorice?" He sniffed again, "I have no idea." He laughed.
"Nope."
"Well I give up. Tell me."

"Apple and pine needle." Philip turned the candle within Lukas' hand, revealing the 'Yankee Candle' label.
"Who even makes a candle that smells like that?" Lukas placed the candle back onto the bedside table.

"Well obviously someone did." Philip laughed again, "and I like it."

Lukas couldn't help but stare at Philip as he picked up the pile of books spread across his bed. He walked over to the bookshelf, placing the books back one by one in the correct place.
Philips always been such a tidy person.

"Let's do something." Lukas collapsed onto Philips bed, "I'm bored."

Philip pushed the last book onto the shelf and turned around before making his way onto the bed to lay beside Lukas.
"Like what?" Philip placed his hand within Lukas, their fingers intertwining and locking into place.

Lukas thought for a moment, a slight hum being released from his lips.
Philip watched as Lukas lay staring at the ceiling, his shaggy hair all over the place.

He couldn't help but smile and remove the hair from Lukas' eyes, to which Lukas turned to look at him.
"I love you." Lukas smiled, pressing his lips against Philips.

"I love you too."

They lay there for a moment more, the both of them thinking.
"I know." Lukas stood up, walking across the room.

Philip pulled himself up from the bed to follow to find Lukas in the kitchen.
"What're you doing?" Philip smiled as he watched Lukas pop open a bag.
"I'm making popcorn. You should go pick a film or something." He said without looking away from the spilled curdles across the floor.

"O-kay." Philip made his way to the sofa, grabbing a nearby blanket and sprawling it across himself, leaving room for Lukas of course.
"Don't pick something crappy!" Lukas yelled from the kitchen.

Philip smiled, "how about Sherlock?"
"Film or series?" Lukas spoke over the sound of popping popcorn.
"Series?"
"That's good. I'll be there in a minute."

Philip clicked the television remote, curling up again within the blanket and after a few moments Lukas flipped the lights off and made his way to the sofa with a bowl. He placed the bowl on the floor beside Philip before wriggling under the blanket next to him and covering himself up.
Philips head lay rested upon Lukas' arm as usual and the two of them sat silently as Sherlock spoke.

The two of them had been living together for almost a year now in an apartment just outside of town. They initially moved in together as friends, both of them needing a place to stay closer to college. Then however something changed and they saw one another in a different light. Of course with everything that had happened it wasn't easy for Philip to move away from Helen and Gabe but he needed the space and knew he'd find  happiness living with Lukas.

Lukas looked down at Philip who's eyes remained fixed on the screen, popcorn in his mouth and he realised that he'd never been as happy as he was in this moment.
