I banged my head on the concrete wall behind me with a decent force. This was the thousandth time Easy Street played in this small box of a room.

It was cold in here, and pitch black, aside from the peek of light coming from under the door. I was sitting up with my back against the chilled wall, hugging my knees to my chest.

This ain't it. It can't be. I gotta get the hell up out of here.

Aside from cold, I was extremely hungry. I haven't had a bite of food since they put me in here. I don't even know how long I've been in this room. Two days? Might be three.

I closed my eyes, letting out a small sigh. The image of Glenn being brutally beaten by Negan invaded my mind. I shook my head, trying to remove the tragedy from my brain.

"Glenn, I'm sorry brother." I whispered to myself.

The sound of steady footsteps interrupted my thoughts. I leaned my head slightly to the right, closer to the door, to hear a little better. The steps got louder with every second that passed by, and soon enough they stopped in front of the door. I could see the shadow of two feet right under the crack of light coming through.

The door opened, painfully slow, after hearing the jingling of a few keys. I looked up at the entrance which was only half open, but couldn't make out the figure standing there. The sudden light coming in the room was too much for my eyes, I put my hands above my face, attempting to block it out.

"Hi." A woman's voice. "I brought you something to eat." She spoke loudly, trying to make herself heard over the music that surprisingly sounded lower with the door open.

I squinted at the faint shadow of a person, but still couldn't make her out. The door creaked opened completely now, letting in more blinding light.

"I'll leave it here." The woman said. She bent over and set a mystery plate of food down on the ground before looking up at me.

My eyes finally adjusted and were greeted by a smile. The woman knelt down beside me, pushing the plate closer to me.

"I'm Eva." She whispered, before standing up and walking out of the door. The woman, Eva, had long dark hair and caramel skin.

When the door shut behind her, the wave of darkness returned, leaving me with the small trace of light I had grown accustomed to. I felt around for the plate Eva had left and quickly picked up what was on it. I took a bite, blindly, and then devoured it in what felt like 2 bites.

It was a ham sandwich. And let me tell you, a ham sandwich when you're starving will be the best thing you've ever tasted.
