We put Tom into the trunk of my sister's car, I patted the suitcase a little wishing it a smooth ride.
First thing was first, we needed a shovel. Not something you tend to need in a big apartment block. We drove back to mom and dad's house, they had garden tools enough for their whole neighbourhood.
We'd hoped they wouldn't be in. Mum was, she came out to see us, saying she was so surprised by our visit, so we agreed to stay for a cool drink before heading out. We didn't ask for the shovel as much as one of us distracted mom whilst the other went and smuggled it out through the side gate in the yard.
