One day when my sister was round, she told me how much I'd changed. She'd cried and said she missed who I used to be, now I was just a listless impersonation of her lively sister.

Tom didn't take kindly to it.

"That is the craziest thing you've ever said." Tom had criticized as he walked in from the bathroom, catching the last of my sister's words. "You know sticking your nose into other people's business is never a good idea, bad things tend to happen to nosy people." A dark threat instead of tears, I was both amazed and frightened.

He'd never threatened anyone but me

"No, this isn't nosing. She's my sister and my business. It's not like I said you were to blame, even though the evidence all points to the start of your," she looked him up and down with narrow eyes, "relationship...." She'd pulled herself together by this time.
