Dinner was so great last night plus the fact that I get to eat my lola’s specialties is pure heaven. I haven’t eaten that much in a while. I get to bond with my cousins also and listen to our oldies’ as they share some kwento about their younger years. Until earlier this morning at the breakfast table and during lunch time and merienda, wala kaming tigil sa pagkekwentuhan at kulitan. It was really fun, sana lang we can spend more time like this often.

Because of our parent’s work and busy din kami sa studies and the fact that we all live apart, malabo talagang magkasabay-sabay din kami ng mga schedules kaya bihira kaming nagkakasama-sama besides some special occasions na kailangan talaga ng complete attendance.

We are on our way back to Manila now, “Had fun?” I turned to look at my dad who’s driving.

“Yeah,” I said smiling. “Sana we can do this often.”

“Yeah, I hope so too,” he said. “How’s your new school nga pala?”

“It’s good, and you get to meet my new friends na din di ba?”

“Erin,” he suddenly became serious.

Oh no, ayoko ng mga ganitong makabagbag damdaming mga usapan.

“… about what happened sa amin ng mommy mo,” he started.

“Dad, I get it ok, your relationship does not work na, and mas masasaktan lang kayo lalo pag magkasama pa kayo. I understand Dad, honestly, I can’t blame the two of you and I don’t want na mag suffer tayo pare-pareho kung ipipilit pa natin, hindi na tayo magiging masaya.”

“Thanks Erin,” his smile came back. He looked relieved now.

“Dad, do you have a girlfriend na ba?” I asked straightforward, matagal ko na din kasi gustong itanong sa kanya yung bagay na ‘to, wala lang talagang magandang timing.

“Ha?” he asked surprised. “Saan mo naman nakuha yung tanong na yan?”

“Wala lang, I was just curious.”

“Erin, wala. Wala talaga, at kahit ang mommy mo wala din, hindi na lang talaga kami nagkaroon ng time sa isa’t-isa lately hanggang sa parang it’s not enough na and hindi na kami masaya. Don’t think about having a third party, dahil hindi nagkaroon,” he explained.

“Ok,” I shrugged. Good. Atleast ngayon mas malinaw na sa akin ang lahat.

My phone then went off, I took it out of my bag and saw Bambi’s name on the screen.

“Hey,” I answered.

“Hoy, bruha!” I heard her screamed.

“Nasaan ka ba? Bakit ang ingay?” I asked. I looked up to my dad and mouthed Bambi, referring to who I am talking with, he just nodded and continue driving.

“We won our first game!” I heard Cath screamed on the other line.

Ah, they might still be in Araneta pa watching the basketball game kaya maingay.

“Erin, are you in Bulacan pa ba?”

“On our way na back to Manila.”

“The guys are inviting us for dinner, sama ka?”

“Uhm,” I looked at my dad. “Wait I need to ask my dad pa.” my dad turned to me upon hearing what I said.

“What is it?” he asked.

“Dad, Bambi and Cath are inviting me for dinner. Okay lang ba?”

“Where are they?”

“We’re here in Araneta,” I heard Bambi on the other line; obviously she heard my dad’s question.
